So, just back from an 'interesting' week in New York (yes, we were in the middle of it, yes, we're all sage, yes, it was scary as hell).

Get back to the house and find one of my cars, parked off the road on my private land, covered with potatoes, and with a smashed (sic) back window. We get a lot of veg dropping off tractors where I live in the sticks, but this was a *lot* of spuds.

THere's only one local farm doing spuds currently, but any idea what my recourse is here? Hard to prove, so I imagine I have to hope they 'fess up. At which point I can give them a damn good roasting.

And the window isn't just chipped. Any others I've missed?

Are there any chips on your windscreen?

ETA: Bummer, I should've kept my eyes peeled for puns in the opening post...

The folks responsible for packaging those potatoes should surely be given the sack.

I'd leave the spuds, call them point out they you think they've damaged your property, and ask them to nip round.

Then wait for them to deny all, surrounded by err, spuds.

Is there not a specific law with regards to the disposal of potatoes in a public place, one of those random, weird laws that you could investigate?

ETA sorry, it was repeeled in the days of King Edward.

Get a solicitor and take them to court if they dont fess up.

If you dont get a solicitor and do it yourself you'll only make a "hash" of it and give tham a load of old "Waffle"! A "birdseye" photo of the damage might help! biggrin

If that doesnt work then send some boys round to "Mash" them up! biggrin

The farmer must have spud up as he drove past your car.

Tell him that he needs to b light on the gas pedal.

Good job you weren't at home, it could have been really frite-ning. Do you think someone could have fired them at your car from a colcannon?
