My first car was an '83 242 Turbo. What a great handling car! I lowered it with IPD springs but left the rest stock. Showed a few old 911s the way around our local track. My current 740 Turbo doesn't handle nearly as well but is of course faster in a straight line. If it wasn't for rust, I'd still have that 242...

There was a nice 240, with a later 940 turbo engine conversion, for sale on Ebay a couple of weeks ago.

I was tempted, but had no money or space for it!

I would love to get hold of the specifications and make a road going replica, just a little more subtle. I think it could be the ultimate sleeper.
Have a look here for specs.

You, Sir, are an excellent gentleman. Thank you.

Also whoever said they would start importing ready-tuned versions into the country, do it, i reckon there would be some serious cash to be made.

Back in the day when Volvos' number were series / cylinder count / number of doors. Great system. My first car was a 144, dubbed "The Beast" complete with overdrive, unassisted steering and Bosch C-tronic engine management computer that held the Nox emissions record at my local garage! Vague memory of a factoid that 60% of these cars was British components.

My first Volvo was a 245. I loved it, then Mrs. Tunku spun it and stuck it on its roof. frown
