RE: Vauxhall preps 'Adam VXR'
Discussion
I'm not a fan of these floating roof jobbies, even blacked out B-pillars look a bit poo on no-coupes most of the time IMO.
If it was better looking; the weight and possible future power etc. could make it a good shout at the right price.
EDIT: Though I suppose a black one could look ok... Would have to see the spec/price details. But with the top end Corsa hitting 22K+ I reckon this in VXR guise will cost more than a Clio 200.

I'm getting sick of cars have such huge inflated front ends. I know it's for pedestrian safety and all, but seriously, can't they just make the engine block lower rather than the bonnet higher?
Isn't having the bonnet higher the whole point? Thus affecting which bits of the pedestrian take the brunt of the impact?VW Up starts at 8.5K. The high up is £11.5k with lots of extras as standard equipment, heated seats, maps and more (satnav, phone, blue economy watnot integrated in the car), radar braking, cruise control, heated seats, reverse sensors, alloys etc etc. It is light, 900kg, fun to drive and does 60mpg average.
The Adam is going to be nowhere near as competitive in this segment, the economy will likely be no good (in the real world) and residuals will be apalling compared to the VW. 13k is a joke - Adam should be nearer 8k.

If only they had called it Jeff, Dave or maybe Keith?
Naming a car after a person's first name just seems odd (Enzo and Dino being the exceptions that prove the rule).
My son will be pleased at least having a personalised car Naming a car after a person's first name just seems odd (Enzo and Dino being the exceptions that prove the rule).
Perfect partner to the Renault Zoe coming out soon

you can imagine the Marketing meeting
"OK guys we have an A-Z list of every name conceivable, its Friday, 16:45 and the pubs are open"
10 mins later the vauxhall adam was born
If that was the case it would have been the Vauxhall Aaron "OK guys we have an A-Z list of every name conceivable, its Friday, 16:45 and the pubs are open"
