RE: You Know You Want To: Lamborghini Murcielago
Discussion
Greetings all!
Let's not descend into a N&S thread eh? The story is about Murcielago values and there are other comparable cars around for similar prices so the point remains valid.
Like this one or another here.
Let's keep the talk about the Lambos, not the people selling 'em, eh?
Cheers!
Dan
PS - Miura typo corrected too!

Especially from that particular trader, from what I've heard!
how did i know who it was before i even looked. does a company with reputation for having a lot full of lets be kind and say not exactly the cream of the crop cars really constitute a benchmark price these days?r1ch said:

I just cant accept it, no matter how good it may be, as the last of the proper Lambo's.
In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's actually the first of the diluted Lambo's restrained by Audi.
Not for a moment suggesting it's anything less than amazing and no doubt far better to drive, use and live with than models before it.
But for me, the Diablo was the last of the proper Lamborghinis (and better looking)
Yeah this is exactly how I feel about modern day Lambo's. I do love the styling of the Murcielago, but I can't help get the impression they aren't as mental as they should be nowadays. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's actually the first of the diluted Lambo's restrained by Audi.

But lately I found myself liking the Murc more.
And now this Aventador, I cannot find fault only dribbly gorgeous ridiculousness from any and every angle. For me a true pin-up!
The only thing standing between me and ownership is the small matter of a lottery win... one day, my lovely, you WILL be mine.
at circar 80-90k i cant see losing much on these murcies. at the end of the day there arent many in the UK anyway.
I will definitely own one in the next couple of years. its simply jaw dropping. just need to work out how you live with £4k for a clutch etc!
it wipes the floor with subtle supercars.
If i could find the extra cash, i think i would probably buy this.

What could possibly go wrong??? I can only imagine the horrors you are suggesting with a £75,000 Murcielago!

Slathered over this ad earlier in the week. Sorry.
Completely agree about the Ferrari 550. When it first came out I thought it looked boring and would not age well at all. How wrong could I be? Seen a few in magazines recently and now have a real urge for one. It looks classical and classy, I'd even describe it as pretty in the right colour. And exactly the same goes for the Ferrari 360. Again I thought it looked pretty average when it first came out, but now, in black with cream leather, no roof...goodness me I want one.
I understand that this particular establishment moves on 'well used' supercars for day/weekend hire companies.
I remember looking at one F430 only to find it on Youtube, recorded weeks earlier, wrapped in vinyl, doing donuts in a car park as part of some elaborate parade of hired supercars, driven by a bunch of numpties at a wedding in Bradford.

While I admire the Murcielago for what it is, If I was buying a Lamborghini to actually drive rather than pose on the Kings Road, I'd choose it's smaller brother the Gallardo every time.
Why? Simple the Murci is huge, so big in fact that it becomes pretty pointless on most of our small UK roads, add in the fact that it has very poor rear visibility and I'd be a very nervous owner indeed.
The Gallardo in comparison might not be as dramatic but it's the perfect size, sharper and a better drivers car IMO. £75K will also get you a very decent Gallardo rather than a Murci from a dealer with a "reputation".

Sorry about the Miura, silly mistake. Is there something else? I don't like spelling, punctuation and grammar to be strewn with errors, it makes a bad impression!Just to add: The V12 rather predates the Miura. It first appeared in the 350GT ('63 IIRC). Granted, the Miura was the first time that it was placed behind the driver but was sat transversely with the gearbox in the sump - rather like the setup in a Mini.
