There are massive road closures planned this weekend due to the Lord Mayor's show on Saturday and some sort of protest march on Sunday. They've already put loads of barriers up around most of the St Paul's area. I would NOT drive into that part of London this weekend as you will end up stuck in traffic\lost\frustrated due to all the road diversions.

Central London roads are a bit of a mare at the best of times but especially if you are a stranger to London trying to get somewhere with a major event\road closures to contend with too. My advice would be to save your sanity, park a bit further out and get a cab.

Do the Epping thing.

It will be FAR quicker exiting London via this route at short notice than it would be driving out of town and up to Cambridge. Any route out of town for you to get to the M11 or A10 on a Saturday night will take you through congested areas, so likely to take upwards of an hour just to get clear of London.

I would check TfL engineering timetable though - often stuff going on over a weekend limiting service....
+1. Totally agree with this. Its virtually impossible to beat the tube.
