What do you do with your old car mags?
Discussion
Suspect I'll get some sarcy responses to this, which I couldn't blame you for, but what do you guys do with your old car mags?
Seems a shame to chuck them in the bin - mine are mainly ones from the 90's.
I gave a load away at a few car meets in the summer but really need to clear some more.
Anywhere you can sell them - not overly bothered about getting cash for them, though if they did make something for charity it would be a bonus.
Cheers

Yes I've got a load that I'd like to give away too.
It's a shame to bin them as most are in perfect condition and would give somebody some enjoyment.
Similarly I've got copies of Practical Computing back to 1978 and a load of early 80's Personal Computer World. These include reviews of the original BBC, Spectrum and the Apple Lisa where they stated the mouse was a gimmick and soon disappear.
I might hang on to the PCWs but the 70's mags might even be museum worthy.

For the last 15 or so years I've only kept the ones that have articles on my own cars. All the others I give away to fellow petrolheads, normally like the OP at car meets and the like
However, I've still got nearly every Car, Performance Car and Autocar from 1986 to 1994, which I read regularly

I used to hoard them as they were full of facts and figures, used to dig the reviews out if I, or someone I know was looking at a specific car, I had autocar from 1987 for years, a whole wardrobe full of them, lent some to a mate and his mum launched them in the bin thus breakign my unbroken set and that kind of made me think why bother, I moved out of my parents and couldnt take them anyway so put them in Loot and a bloke collected them. I had some stored at the in laws, some fromt eh seventies but they were moaning that they were taking up space, they live on a farm and it has many outbuildings they never go in but they moaned about this box so I took the lot to the recycling.
With the advent of the interenet I am less inclined to keep them as I can get all the info I need with one Google search, I still get Autocar and pass them in batches to my dad who then takes them to work.

I take mine to my car club meetings for other members to take home. I'd never read anything in a doctor's waiting room, you never know what you might pick up with the magazine
Imagine how I feel with my collection of free range porn, harvested from local parks and spots of outstanding natrual beauty !I've subscribed to C&SC and LRO for 11 years now... I keep every issue of C&SC for their reviews of the rarest and most desirable metal. I keep every issue of LRO for their workshop and technical sections, which Iam in the middle of making a spreadsheet on for finding the right article when I need it
I keep the best ones such as Motorsport or sometimes Octane or previously Evo. I figure it would be nice if I ever own any of the cars featured, to have the old reviews.
Otherwise I remember spending many hours cutting out pictures, copying them or whatever when I was a kid, so I'll keep them for my kids to do the same.
One day they'll all end up in the bin I'm sure.
