Perhaps donate some to my doctor as his waiting room library has one copy of Top Gear magazine from circa 1994 hiding between ten million copies of heat/womans weekly/countryside magazine.

I enjoy reading some of the old ones now and then, esp. Fast Lane and early Performance Car

I give mine to my OH. She's an art teacher so they get taken to school but I'm not entirely sure what happens to them after that. Hopefully one of them will create some amazing art work from them but I suspect that they're used to mop up paint spills or something similar...

I have 60 years of Motor Sport and about 6 years of Octane. The rest get binned or passed to my dad unless I'm published in them.

I've got lterally hundreds and hundreds of car mags going back to 1966, can't move for the bloody things, but I'm loath to part with a single one when I think how much they have cost me over the years...
This for me too,but not quite as far back as 1966.

I am currently binning some Classic car weeklys as it's only a newspaper after all.

Right now they are boxed in date order in the loft. Autocar since October 1987, Car magazine since August 1985.

I used to have an old house with press cupboards, 9ft high and just over A4 size deep, so they used to all be out on display. A fine sight with all those spines...

And I'll answer the question that everyone asks me, yes I do still read them.

I keep them......

I have an unbroken run of Autosport & Car dating back to 1978, every issue of Classic & Sportscar, MotorSport dating back to the early 80's, every Red Line, every Fast Lane, a complete collection of the original Grand Prix International, every copy of Evo, Octane, Top Gear, Classic Car (which was Thoroughbred & Classic car for many years) going back to god knows when as well as every one off from Top Gear, Evo etc & anything else car related that took my fancy in the newsagents.

Forgot about a complete set of Performance Car as well!

Also got a complete collection of a classic car magazine from the 80's that I am buggered if I can remember the name of. It was a top quality magazine which was produced quarterly if I recall correctly.

Got a lot more as well, all stored in my loft, the spare bedroom & in the garage!

Add to this a collection of over 1500 die cast models & you probably understand why swmbo is getting very pissed off with me.

Also got over 200 books - all motoring related - stored in my mums loft.

Oh yeah - i have also got a complete one piece body off a JPS Lotus 92 F1 car.........

I keep them. I've got every issue of Car from the very first on September 1962 up to the latest; every issue of Evo; almost every issue of Performance Car; most of Octane apart from the early stuff; every Mercedes Enthusiast; and every Mercedes-Benz Classic. I've had to limit it at this but I buy all the other mainstream stuff like Classic and Sportscar, Classic Cars and stuff. Like others, one day there'll be a library in the ultimate garage (I have a couple of hundred car hardbacks as well and several thousand brochures). At the moment all of this stuff is on fitted shelves in our games room, but we're running out of wall fast.

You could try selling them: I buy a lot of back issues on Ebay, it took years to build my Car collection.

I've got two thousand of them- 1.2 tons total - Motor, Autocar, Performance Car, Fastlane, Evo, Car and miscellaneous others, all chronologically arranged and stacked neatly in boxes in my garage - I've carted them around the world and to a dozen different houses, read them over and over, picking a different era each day depending on my mood.

You've only got to start reading an 80's/90's mag with road tests of 205 GTI's, MK1 MX5's, 944's, VR6 Corrado's etc to become intoxicated.

The time has come and they're for sale as one lot shortly with no reserve.

Buyer must pick up smile

Sounds like I'd better hire a big van. And a good divorce lawyer.

You'll get a lot more for them if you break them down into one lot for each title. A full set of Car would fetch £500 to £100, Performance Car maybe £150, Evo £250 to £500, Fastlane you'd be surprised. First issues fetch £20-plus. And they do sell, whereas September 2011 of whatever will be on the market forever. I always have some older mags by the bog. The quality of the writing and photography was miles ahead of what it is now.

Keep them. I've got over 100 copies of Land Rover Owner magazine, (been reading since I was about 9) and around 200 of other titles, Land Rover Monthly, Practical Classics, Total Vauxhall etc etc...

All currently in stack and store crates in the loft, putting strain on the ceiling smile

I have EVOs going back to the first few issues. They take up a few storage boxes, which i've now moved to 3 different houses. Getting tedious now.

Every Car/Bike mag i have ever bought I have kept and stacked in my spare room, i often refer back to them, and personally its great for slight nostalgia moments when i think back to when i didnt have a car and wished etc,,,,

however my dad had an enormous collection of classic car mags and hot rod mags dating back to the 50s, he had duplicates and pristine copies with the original free gifts and posters etc, we had boxes and boxes filling an entire loft, 2 cupboards in a garage and plenty more in the dining room - we had thousands(literally) so when he fked off 2 years ago and cheated on my mum, i sold em on ebay for £3.99 redface

yes its a fking cool story bro.... smokin

Mine are mostly strewn across the garage floor because recently I tried to find a particular article and haven't found time to tidy them again.
