Yesterday, I was approached by someone I previously did some car market research for with an interesting new opportunity.

This will be like Christmas come early for some, but sadly, I do not own a qualifying vehicle.

You have to own either/or.

Audi R8
AM DB9
Mercedes SL 500/63AMG
Jaguar XKR
or Range Rover Evoque
(yes I thought that was odd too!)

In this instance a major sports car manufacturer would like to hear your views on driving and living with one of their cars for a week.

They will deliver the car to you, ask you to use it for a week and then pay a decent cash sum to hear and record your views on living with the car.

I have posted a couple of these before, they are legit, a few PH members were involved, some going to Germany for the w/e.

In this case you keep your own car and borrow theirs, it will become clear when the major motor manufacturer contacts you, that it is real!

If you own one of the cars listed above (they ask for V5)and are interested, then contact me through my profile and I will give you the contact details of the organisers.

Just to add, I get nothing out of this, other than being kept in the loop for other opportunities to drive and review cars that I am suitable for.

So, like me, if you don't own of their "chosen" cars, unfortunately you don't get to play!

Does it have to be a recent version of the cars listed? The reason I ask is that my father drives a 2001 XKR.

Good point, I will find out.

Apparently, the car has to be up to 3 years old, or maybe 4 at a push..

You have to be a current owner......just because you owned a 500SL for a couple of months in 1985, will not get you the keys and £££ for the week. The car in question is a new/latest model.

Discretion was assured over the identity of manufacturer and model of car, so it won't turn into a guessing game.

1 sports car, 3 GTs and a SUV... interesting owner demographic they want.

Well its either Jag or BM. I was initially thinking Jag's new F.

The wife and I are their perfect demographic, but she would spit blood at the Evoque suggestion over the ML!
Funnily enough though, I was just in Merc last weekend talking about an SL deal!!!

I have a had a couple of people interested up to now, I thought there may have been more, but I suppose that is PH these days, everyone has 12C's & 458's instead of R8's and why buy an Evoque when they supercharge the FF Range Rover!

Still room for more..

DJRC....you certainly are shrewd!

Not unusual. Cars have main competitors and adjacent competitors that possess attributes that the new car will have. The Evoque might be used because of it's rear seat space and sloping roof line. Ignoring the high ride height and the fact it is slower than the rest, it is not far off from the others.
