A nice easy what car for a Thursday evening.

£5000 max
It will live outside quite often.
You have another car, but this one will get used fairly regularly.
The car needs to suffer absolute minimum depreciation once purchased.

Must be fun to own and special.

What do you buy and why?

I already have one of these, a BMW M535i.
If I was buying another, I'd probably get a C32 AMG.

Indeed.

Guards red. With cream leather.

I'll take two. Maybe a turbo too?

E36 M3. They offer a lot of bang for your buck.

Thats what I did, 944 Cab for £4250, would hope to get most of my money back, rock bottom is three grand so even if I have to let it go I wont have lost much.

Just be careful, a cheap 944 can cost more than its purchse price in repairs pretty quickly.

5 grand 911, I dont know they existed, is that potential financial ruin, I know old 911s can look ok but be rotten to the core.

The number plate comes with the car and that has a value of around 4k so I would be somewhat suspicious of the quality of this 911. But, even if it is scrap you can weigh it in and get 1k and sell the plate and break even

One of these, I bought a good one for 5k, had it for 2.5 years (spent about 1k) doing little bits then sold it for 7k. Admittedly it was a one-off individual Evo version.
A good one is quick, comfortable, practical and very reasonably priced. Not bad to look after as a DIY mechanic either.

The way I read it, it's an eBay auction. If it really was for sale at £5k, that would be bargain of the century.
