I wouldn't say ugly but Mercs have just never appealed to me. I can appreciate what they offer, the quality, power and sound but, personally, they leave me cold... Not saying why do people buy them because I can see the attraction.

Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Soooo large and such odd proportions. The doors are fine, but is it a GT car? A track car? Street sports car? A touring coupe? They should have taken a greater detour from the SLS Mclaren instead of changing everything but looking much like a descendent. Truth is that I have a bias against 'big' cars and so the Mercs just don't work for me.
How are they (all of the variants) selling?

Not to mention it's more powerful, has more torque, a higher top speed (and that's limited to 199! Apparently 220+ delimited).

You would have to be mad to take the SLS Black over one of those imo. The SLS looks more like the latest Arab posing-mobile, than the mad road going GT3 car I was hoping it to be.

Having seen an SL Black Series on the roads - I don't think anything except a SLS BS would come close for road presence! (for Mercs)

Bit disappointing that really isn't it?

I suspect it's fashion over form tho - the SL65 is a "fkING LOOK AT ME" car, most of those addendas and bits probably serve little purposes other than drawing attention to the car.

You get the feeling the SLS is a bit less "look at me" and a bit more "subtle improvement".

Arabs will be disappoint - well, except they won't be because they'll paint in pink and put a cock on the roof...
