SPOILER ALERT:

Whilst the idea is cracking, I don't think they're all that good if I'm honest. Proportionally, Corgi has done better in the past.

Having seen some of the work a professional model-making friend of mine has done for Mattel in the past, their work outshines Corgi's.

As I said, great idea, just the execution could have been better.

My collection is of battered cars only due to repeated use.
I remember in primary school..... we used to "race " them in the playground.
We had a start line and used to push them to see who could get the car to go furthest.
My best was a red ferrari pushed backwards!

If that's the CMC model, I have it. It's absolutely stunning, down to the finest little details.

Recently had to have a very serious conversation when the OH suggested that I let our 5 year old play with my various CMC and Exoto models...

My Dad had exactly that model of Cavalier SRi except it was a 5-door hatch. With "lovely" light brown velour.

Amazing to think it was only 115bhp (iirc).

It was nicked from outside PC World in Bristol (Filton) and found a week later in a council estate in Weston ... H9xxWVV it was (again iirc).

This article is like a flashback to cars that I had owned 15-20 years ago, think at some stage I've owned every one of those except the Golf (had a Scirocco instead)

I would like to be the sad git that points out that the spec of the Cavalier is wrong. All the ph2 SRi's had alloys, wheras the Corgi model shows the plastic wheel trim style of the ph1 cars getmecoat

The 205gti model is based on measurements taken from my car.. Corgi came to my house for a couple of hours and took a series of measurements.
I got paid in Scalextric!!

Although they look a bit budget, they are better in the flesh.

Is it even sadder to point out that you are wrong and wheel trims were standard at this time apart from on the SRi 130?
Does being a 1987 second facelift Cavalier MK11 make this a ph3 car?

Sorry to be the anorak, but the last Capris were actually produced in 2 slightly different greens (can't remember the name of the other green colour, but a member of the Capri Owners Club will no doubt elucidate).
Can I have a model Capri for being Pedant of The Week?
Or a subscription to 'Sad bd Monthly' as an alternative?
