You sir, are officially a very lucky bd. Would give my left nut to drive an S4 or S5 Impreza WRCar!
Some cracking cars here. Here's mine, I owned it up until four years ago, enjoy :

The second WRC car Prodrive built, chassis number 002 :

Dash :

Engine/bay :

Originally built by Prodrive for the Allstars Team :

Subsequently driven by Jean Alesi and Alex Zanardi at the Bettega Memorial Rallysprint.

Used my Franco Cunico to campaign the '99 Italian Championship. He finished runner up in the championship to Andrea Aghini, in the process Cunico took victories on the Rally Cioccio, The Mille Miglia and The Targa Florio. He also contested the Sanremo rally and finished 9th overall.

The car subsequently ended up in Barbados, I bought it and had it imported back into the UK.

Another RB5 owner here and I absolutely adore my Impreza.

It's so raw, focused and sharp.

I've always loved the 22B's/P1's and RB5's and decided to trade from dull company cars too a classic Impreza and I love every moment of it!

In terms of driving, the sti 5 type r is till the best driving Impreza, closely followed by the late spec C's

More tissues need: STAT. That is pornographic.

You sir, are my new hero. Were you using this as a road car? (Rather then for competition)

I've long had the dream that, post lottery win, I would buy an early Impreza WRC (or two!) to put in the garage and drive on the road. The 22B is top of my present Impreza "want" list as its the closest car Subaru produced to the S4/S5 Impreza that I might be able to afford one day: if I had the money though I would skip the 22B and go straight for the real deal!

PS: If you guys want to see the best classic Impreza rally video then it has to be this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXXKlrs2vn8

60 seconds of music, then 90 minutes of pure Impreza audio. Rare as rocking horse st on DVD now, but pretty much all the compilations on You Tube use clips taken from this film.

I had an MY97 Terzo. Kept it for 10 years. Absolutely great car. Whoever first bought it had the PPP kit fitted to it from new, circa 240 BHP

For a limited edition, it never really got the love that the RB5's, or McRae's got. I think that was mainly down to stuff written by EVO about how great the RB5 was, when essentially it was very similar to the Terzo. Just a standard UK impreza 2000 with a fancy paint job, trim and badges.

Terzo No 230, I think your floating about down in London. Maybe one day i'll get you back.

I suppose the irony here is, the stats posted 2 posts above yours mention no chassis or suspension changes at all, bar some 17" alloys. Meaning it should handle exactly the same as any other T2000 of the same period.

Lovely car though smile
Thanks smile The chassis change I refer to is a solid rear bulkhead, not a gap for split fold rear seats as on UK T2000s, not something I've checked (but the seats don't fold at all in mine) and some people swear theres a difference. Classics are supposed to handle best on 17"s as well, or its as big as you can go before you degrade the handling. Again, I've not verified either of these on mine, as it's pretty standard (Bar exhaust system)

The owners manual for a T2000 says the folding rear seats are optional, so I presume not all T2000 have them, or if they do it was just an option the factory/importer ticked by default.

As to whether the bulk heads are different or if the holes still exist regardless of the seat I don't know.

As for wheels, I do remember reading an Autocar article on how badly a P1 handled on 17's compared to the dealer fit option 18's. The article seemed a little extreme about it though.

All these pics of the classic 2 doors are giving me a serious hankering for another one now. Would love a 22b but by all accounts the unique bodywork is a mare to get replacement parts for should the unthinkable happen. That and the fact that they are very rare now would probably make for an uneasy ownership experience. I like to actually drive my cars rather than look at\polish them so would probably be a bit uncomfortable throwing a 22b around the country lanes or track.

Me too the 22b is so special it would be a shame to 'bend' one.

Type R with 22b conversion perhaps?

Some stunning cars on this post - the Prodrive Car is stunning - one of my favourites cars of all time.

When I used my old STi RA for sprints and hillclimbbs I was let us say on a limited budget.

Bloody great fun and one a few trophies class wins in the process:
