Car stolen off drive tonight - Alpina D3 Nottingham
Discussion
The police have today informed me that the car was used in a 'Commercial Burglary' in Wales last week...
They still haven't found the car but now know that it is on false plates.... What a sorry end to what has been such a loved and cherished car...
So, if you are in Wales, please still keep an eye out for a graphite grey Alpina D3, albeit I have no idea what number plate will now be on it...

As mentioned, would you want it back?
I commented earlier in the thread saying we had two cars stolen last year, and have never heard anything since. My dad has had a few cars stolen in his driving career, and ones that he has had back have been pretty trashed, eg covered in cig burns or even foot prints on the inside of the roof, not to mention mechanical damage.
This is what put me off getting a tracker to my new car, yeah it might help them find it if it happened again, but would I really want it back not knowing what it had been through?
Saying that, although I wouldn’t want it back, I would still love to have seen it one more last time if it had been found, and find out the full story of why it was stolen, and what happened to it. I loved that car and still to this day don’t have a clue what happened to it, or why it was taken.

I agree whole heartedly with your comments... great isn't it...I commented earlier in the thread saying we had two cars stolen last year, and have never heard anything since. Not wanting to drag up the st, but what have the insurers said and what replacement comes your way?
As the car was stolen, I don't qualify for a hire car so I have had to bite the bullet and buy a temporary car until I get a company car in a few months time.Apparently my Alpina was used in a 'commercial burglary' in Wales last week.... It is now on false plates as mine were found in a layby along with the contents of the boot a couple of miles away from the robbery...
Really sorry to hear about this. Horrible situation and I'm glad to hear you and the family are safe. This is why I always leave the keys to my car near the front door, if they want it they can darn well take it and leave me in peace.
Its also what puts me off having a really nice car, I would rather have something fun that nobody would look at twice than suffer that kind of ordeal.
I'm actually local to you myself. Moved from Newstead village to Pinxton yesterday. Whilst putting the big TV in the car there were 3 lads watching us, they cant have been more than 12-13. They were talking amongst each other saying they should come over and knock me and my dad out (yeah right) nick the telly so they could play there PS3 on it. I know its just talk but its depressing to hear that mentality in such young kids.
