On Sunday bicycling through Chelsea I cycled alongside a very smart TDF blue 360 Challenge Stradale. They make a very slutty noise.

Then not two minutes later, an old Ferrari which I don't know the exact name of rolled past (and roared off when I gave him the thumbs up!). Red with a racing number on the front. I think it may have been a 250 TR but not sure... If it was 10/10 for rarity!

I am pretty sure I saw those G wagens outside the Dorchester last weekend where we were having afternoon tea with the pinkies right out. There was a distinct whiff of a particular type of smoke nearby, not sure if related.

It's a 1974/1975 Mk1 Granada 3 litre 'S', with an added 'bonnet bulge' and an abortion of a 'body kit' all round. It would probably really suit inclusion in the "Badly Modified" thread as it is.

It would make a real nice basis for a restoration, though. It's the best colour for an early Granny too.

When I was young, my dad had a black Consul Granada estate of similar vintage. It had been a funeral director's car, and had chrome roof rails and a 'badge bar' at the front. My mum at first refused to get into "the hearse" until the funeral director (my mate's dad) assured her that it had never been used to move "the recently deceased" but had instead been used to carry unoccupied caskets and as an additional mourner's car for larger funerals. My dad never stopped referring to it as "The Hearse" though, much to my mum's dismay. Personally, I'd love to own a 'fastback' bodied Granada, in black, with tasteful modern wheels.

Thanks for the link, that is the one I saw. It just seemed so out of place for Cambridge, sure sounded nice when he gave it a boot full away from some traffic lights!

I think that Granada looks great. Looks like a blend between classis Jap and obnoxious muscle car.

I just walked down to my local Coop, Fernhill Road, Farnborough.

Rumbling past was this....

Plymouth Road Runner Superbird

Now it's not my photo (it looks like a Blackbushe meet) but it was that exact car. Utterly wonderful V8 burble, and such a huge car looked completely out of place on the mean streets of Cove. Totally unexpected spot, I wouldn't want one myself, but I'm so very glad to have seen/heard it this morning.

Not sure how 'genuine' it is. It may be the real deal, of a very good replica of the "Superbird" but either way, what a fantastic car to have. Whoever owns it - good on yer, friend. thumbup

Tigerkoi...

A SCD member owns a 720 mirage, without the stripe. I've been in the car a number of times and driven it once. They only ever converted 3 cars even though there is a plaque in each car saying the number out of ten, it's because that is all the cars they could find to have the conversion.

The engine is bench tested to 745bhp so power does vary a bit from what was quoted... Sounds amazing and looks a million dollars, and far more exclusive than say a 458... More info here from the owner: http://www.supercardriver.com/features/members-car...

We recently went to vmax in it and hit 200mph on a slightly damp day: http://youtu.be/muycC_cCBC4 LOVE that car!!
