This car has got me thinking about something I thought of recently; Instead of having a compromise of car that's road legal and supposedly handy on a track why not have a dedicated track performance car instead?
You should have kept that thought to yourself. No-one else has thought of that - could've been your big ticket... Edited by BeirutTaxi on Monday 19th November 16:37

The way I read this article is that the Can Am IS road legal and the non-road legal bit is referring to the GT3?
So for your extra £75k you are actually getting a road legal GT3 with more power. Unless im reading it wrong of course.

Is the Can-am road legal?

Actually rereading it I'm not clear anymore.

Wouldn't think so... With a splitter that big, you'd have the pedestrian safety nitpickers going bonkers the minute you would even fire it up to take it on the streets. Is the Can-am road legal?

Pointless car which you can only use on the track...
Super-rich man's plaything, nothing else, you can't even go to the shops in it!
Better off buying an old F1 car!

If you give Mclaren your wallet I'm sure they would happily build you a road legal (or at least very similar) version Super-rich man's plaything, nothing else, you can't even go to the shops in it!

Totally stunning car. But the non-homologated for street thing kills it for me. Lots of companies can build a wild track-only car when unaffected by the constraints imposed on street-legal cars. This one, without such constraints is a lot less stirring knowing that it is for track only. Too bad, not that it's in my price range.
If there is one thing that the latest Mclaren lacks (besides a good model name) it's great styling. Many (myself included) have noted that it's a bit bland. So this one surely addresses that issue and adds another one. Not legal for street use. Bummer.

Looks like a fantastic car, but it would constantly bug me that Ron D's selling these for more than double the road car price and not offering anything like the value of the cost increase. I'd constantly feel like I was getting blatantly ripped off simply because he knows he can.
I'm sure the GT3 car for sale is much better specced, and one you removed the FIA air restrictor, is probably just as powerful

I believe this comes with full factory support, a bit like the FXX programme but far more flexible. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
