Aluminum oxide will continue to form if in contact with salt and water. I know this because I'm an engineer on North Sea helicopters and we fight a battle everyday to prevent it.
Chris, we use dinitrol AV8 most of the time and it works a treat. It's a bit sticky and looks messy but the aluminum is brand new underneath.

Would the wax not just attract a load of road dirt? I suppose it would be easily blasted off though. I once had a Mondial that had lived on the Scottish coast for 5 years, when it broke down driving through Switzerland, the Ferrari mechanics who recovered it had never seen one with such badly corroded suspension and engine components - all down to the salty air and salty roads.

Re Mr Harris driving a 458 I'm sure his pals at Dick Lovetts would have obliged by now.

No, because its only sticky when wet - the oil component is held under a dried layer of slippery wax. Silt and mud stick slightly but come off easily with a bit of water.

Good write up. I am a big fan of the 599, and the GTO version. Right, better buy a book on how to make money!

Enjoyed reading that, although I'm sure Chris will soon decide to replace it. It reads between the lines 'blah blah blah, midlife, easier to live with, golf, shopping etc.', sounds all boring. He sounded way more excited acquiring that Citroen AX not so long ago tongue out
By the way, how's AX doing, Chris?

Chris has owned a 'Scag' before.

Just chop the Fezza in for a Lambo.

Agree 100%, the Ferrari box has been ticked, time to take the Raging Bull by the horns I reckon. smile

It being a Balboni should mean it retains decent residual value too. OK it's ONLY a V10 with 550bhp so a bit of downgrade (never thought I'd say that about a Gallardo) but I reckon it will make a nice change and be a bit sharper than the GT.

Wet grass. Golf. Surely that's what the FF is for?

Bet my neighbours weren't too keen at 0530 today when I started her up. I'm half expecting a vehicle ASBO.
