Still if that box has been ticked then how about one of these?
British V12 goodness!
Still a V12, gorgeous to look at and possibly a bit less gauche\bit more classy than an F car.

Interesting. I've always felt that having room for golf clubs is very important in an exotic car.Otherwise, you are left without enough room to do anything other than return home after driving. I'd rather enjoy the car by going somewhere and some of those somewheres are golf courses.

Yes he did, it was for Autocar at the time, to see if you could speculate on a new 'in demand' car at the time and sell it on for a profit to those wishing to beat the waiting list. I saw the very car parked on Wandsworth Common at the time, it looked great. Black on Black, yellow stitching on the seats.
Fair enough but I still think a Balboni or better yet a Superleggera would be good investment and shouldn't loose too much, in fact I suspect SL's may start to go up in value and they'll be a lot better to drive than an original Gallardo as their were huge improvements made to that model over the years. Still if that box has been ticked then how about one of these?

It's clear that you like this car a lot Chris and I can't blame you for that. With any bike or car I've loved, if I could avoid it I chose not to run it through the Winter due to the salt. It doesn't matter if it's ally/steel or whatever, it will suffer, even waxing doesn't get to all the places that wet grimey road salt will get to. Take it off the road for the Winter; such a gorgeous car deserves some love and respect surely?

Chris, don't feel too bad about not being able to locate the gnat's g-spot/hole for the towing eye.
Here's my GTO at Fiorano, it took several of Ferrari's finest and even they gave up!
Oh...my...god...your "My Garage" is epic! Alongside racing too. Excellent stuff. I can just about afford to race at the sacrifice of anything special on the road. Sniff...blub.Here's my GTO at Fiorano, it took several of Ferrari's finest and even they gave up!

Anyone any idea where I can buy a couple of cans of this stuff? Sounds just the job for keeping the engine cases on my bike in good nick.
SS7
I'm not sure, I just get it from stores. i would try google, but I don't think it'd be very good on an engine. It would soon burn off. Try ACF-50, that's quite good but doesn't last as long.SS7

Deffo a Series 3 with Safari top. No idea how that slipped through - apols.
As for wax, I'm just making blind assumptions. If someone can tell me it works fine, I might have a go and use the car during the winter!
Don't be such a nancy boy - DD my LP560 and my neighbor dd's his 599. Neither of us stopped during the snow and had a laugh. As for wax, I'm just making blind assumptions. If someone can tell me it works fine, I might have a go and use the car during the winter!

Great article as always. Interesting that Chris has had a Gallardo before. I know there was the article a few months ago about what Chris currently has in his garage, but I'd be interested to know more about which motors he's owned previously.
^^^^ This. He is one of the few journalists who actually writes quite honestly about his OWN car owning experiences rather than about a car that someone else has lent him for a couple of hours\days.. After all it's very easy to gush about hanging the a*se out on the latest Ferrari\Lambo\Porsche etc on a windy mountain road in Italy when you aren't footing the bill or having to put up with it's foibles but actually paying for it yourself and living with it is just as interesting to me. I know some mags have long term reports etc but again they are usually long term loans so not properly self funded, CH puts his money where his mouth is and often gives you a more complete picture of the ownership experience, warts and all I'd find it very insightful if he'd do a comparison of some of the supercars he's owned and lived with day-to-day so that when my lottery numbers come up, I know which showroom to visit first
Hiscocks - what is the "stereotype"? Lots of cool car nuts play golf - e.g.Chris Evans, Alice Cooper and the UK's top car person, Lord March (Festival of Speed and Revival take place at his gaff) has not one but two golf courses on his estate and the car park for the golf club there sometimes looks like the supercar paddock at the Festival of Speed, not least because you can leave your pride and joy there and know that when you get back it won't have been keyed. Ryder Cup star, Ian Poulter has just taken delivery of a customised FF. I can't help but feel that this anti golf feeling comes from a certain J Clarkson's noted antipathy to the game. Ferrari has just introduced a driver (a golf club) made in association with Cobra golf. I rest my case - golf is cool.
