Andy Green, 0-100000000 words about himself in 3 minutes.

Bet he's glad he's sat in that bentley instead of Afghanistan. I'd put 50p on the fact he wears a flying suit sat behind his desk.

Amazing. I didn't appreciate that the Mulsanne was that fast.
I thought most Betleys are capable of such speeds.

Don't forget to deduct the usual 10% speedo over read/error.

Who does he think he is, Daniel, sodding, Craig. Hope all of these jaunts come out of his 38 days leave(including bank holidays). Seriously when was the last time he did any proper RAF work, bet it is easy to write his OJAR though. Wonder if they will make him a Gp Capt if he goes faster than 1000leptonsmph. wink

I think it is a very handsome car. If I had the money I would create a need for a Mulsanne in my life.

By setting the land speed record, Andy Green has made himself a hero amongst men...

But I'm not liking all this publicity he's doing at the moment.

It's just cringe-worthy...

Further more I'm bored of hearing all about how the bloodhound is going to break the record.

We get it, it's difficult, it's fast and it's dangerous... but you have all your sponsors...

Just get on and break it before one of my relatives croak! mad

Do Bently claim 200 for the 6.75 V8?

Mulsanne 184mph with a quick Google and from Top Gear no less! laugh

I suppose is saying 200 on speedo is good enough for kids these days?
It was when I was 10!

ETA!! How could I forget to say GREAT CAR!!!

Probably the most sensible comment posted so far. Epic motor car. None of the German carbon-fibre door handles, unobtainium tyres and crap interior. A very fast, good looking, quiet and comfortable gentleman's club on wheels. Best in the world for its intended purpose, perhaps?

I quite like the shades. And the driver.

That's got to be the dullest way of getting to 200mph though.

Genetically, it's a proper Crewe Rolls Royce, regardless of VW ownership, Bentley badging and whatever is being done down in Goodwood by BMW.

Agreed. If by that you mean it's not trying to kill him, rip it's own tyres off or vibrate his teeth out.

I believe that I now prefer this to the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

It just keeps getting better and better looking now that it's been around for awhile. Those huge headlights make it look entirely unique and imposing. The proportions and lines are indeed very handsome. And the interior, provided it's optioned with taste, is fantastic.

And then you add the astounding performance, all courtesy of a magnificent dinosaur of a V8 -- from the 1950's! -- designed originally by and for Rolls-Royce and Bentley. And a completely bespoke chassis.

It's become clear that Bentley has created a unique masterpiece.

Aren't flyboy Wing Co's supposed to do a flying tour as a OC and a desk tour before their eligible for Groupie. What's the betting he bypasses all that!

What's the betting he's still getting his flying pay, lol?!

Used to be at OC Ops at Wittering I believe, now a desk tourer at UKHQ, so probably gets plenty of 'time off'.

There was one at SMMT this year. It was bloody brilliant.

I wonder if the forthcoming SUV might repeat the trick - I really rather like it, despite universal disdain. Bentley seem to have been brave with that car as they were with this one.

I'm clearly not in their target market (although I do like those shades) but I can see where they got their design inspiration.
