So the article stops where most PH'ers will be interested, i.e. what the hell does it drive like?

Come on PH, shoddy article.

And as for calling Chris a Boffin - rofl He's a lovely bloke, and certainly knows his stuff, but a boffin is not a word you'd use to describe him.

That is amazing - fair play to the guy for commissioning the build, what a weapon!

I want one!

Seen this one at Oulton a few times.... It's had me heading for the Classifieds on more than one occasion...
Good effort at a Countach replica but I can't help thinking that a different donor might have helped to really capture the shape....

I used to have one that was a little scary

fully forged and bored out to 720cc trick cams suzuki sport turbo huge front mount running a full standalone AEM ecu and 550CC injectors from an RX8! also a two way cusco man diff.

It was batst scary and would drift and light its wheels up in 3rd with a clutch kick.

just before i sold her frown to a lunatic who now rallies it round the french spanish border.

That would kinda ruin it, with that much money to spent, I'd rather start with an S1 Elise, weight is rather similar.

Marvellous!!! We need more cars like this. Apart from the wheels, it’s a great looking car. Put a wing on the rear for downforce and that would finish the look.

Being a little sensible, could you have a slightly de-tuned version it and it would more of an everyday ‘Sportscar’?

Like the idea but suspect in practice it would be a terrifying, and a pain in the arse, can appreciate it for what it is but at 35 grand, no thanks, that buys an awful lot of interesting metal.

It certainly looks mad and the figures are mind boggling, it must be a terrifying drive. However, that is a lot power from a small engine, forged parts or not, how many miles can it do before it needs a strip down and rebuild?
