To be fair he didnt say it was a track car just that he took one around a track.
Well there was the implication that he bought a 911T instead BECAUSE the Jag was heavy on track........ It's a GT, not a track/sports car so it was always going to be "heavy" on track.

Anyway, I like these Jags, a real step up from the old XKs which looks VERY dated these days, especially inside.

When I assume supreme dictatorship every single goddam bd ed mother fker who mentions "round a track" when talking about a road car...Im going to fking shoot in the dick. Its not enough you Goddam morons have tried your best to ruin every single damn car in the last decade, but you EXPRESSLY AND OBJECTIVELY SET OUT TO RUIN CARS WHICH ARE THE fkING OPPOSITE OF TRACK CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you ruin them for the rest of us!! So please, for the love of fking God, the next time you feel you might like something vaguely GT'ish DONT take it on the fking track and dont fking whinge about it. That way, maybe, just maybe those of us who actually do require a GT to do the GT job of crossing the Continent to get home can actually buy a car that hasnt had its ride ruined in search of some mythical time around the fking 'Ring!

Have another one from me thumbup
I've been a fan of the XK since I first saw one in the flesh. Imo it's one of those cars that pictures don't do justice. They are big though!

Caveat emptor - the engine has a rubber (!!!) cooling pipe which runs under the supercharger and which usually packs up at about 90K miles ( did on my wifes's S type R) It's a big strip down job to replace so budget about a grand at a specialist - more at a main dealer

Having said that - that engine is awesome, Smolensky was seen at the plant - I wonder if he wanted to put it in a TVR? - that would have been a cracker

8/10

Bravo clap
10/10 from me. Factually spot on. And excellent swearing.
Well when I had a crack at the PH trackday at Palmersport in 2009, the one car that drew the most compliments for positive surprises was the XKR. Yes it's a GT, yes it's an auto, but everyone I spoke to thought it was a belter - very enjoyable and useable car, with a lovely engine note.

And we're not just talking about Land Rover driving spackers like myself, but Lambo owners too.

I'd imagine a naturally aspirated XK 5.0 would be available at a similar-ish price to a 4.2 XKR, if you can find an early one which has actually been used and escaped the Jag main dealers. Similar power to the early XKR. I wonder if their character is different? The N/A 5.0 was likened to a modern Porsche 928 in the one review I've read.

Conker is better rhymes with bonkers which is what track cars or nurburgring developed cars mostly are as they are useless on our pock marked roads which are still not being mended.
Perhaps our foreign aid money could rebuild a decent road network again.
Finally don't talk to me about public transport. A friend from Cornwall travelled to me in West Sussex on monday by train it took 12 HOURS by train bus train due to floods-by car 5 HOURS.
So go stick that in your chinese takeaway Fatboy Prescott inventor of the pink M4 Lane-you are not forgotten or the one eyed T**T, who increased all of our road tax and fuel costs.

Point off for no use of the "c" word and point off for aesthetics, IMO too many gaps where an extra Swearword could have been used frivolously. Cracking Effort pre-lunch though, would love to see what this would have looked like late afternoon with decreasing sugar levels.
hehe
Sugar levels are at their lowest first thing, surely?
Perhaps he has glucose tablets to hand? I do. nuts

I can remember a time when people could get a very strong point over, and indeed, so eloquently as to ensure total embarrassment to a listener or reader, without the use of ffs, f..., f.....g, or even c... -

a time when it made people cringe to hear any part of the make up of those tongue out fking awful words, fk and ! tongue out

And when you think about it, where does 'Fornication Under the Command of the King' or the female anatomy make any sense in the rant above?

Oh yes, and from the grammar police, a single explanation mark is suffice at the end of any word or sentence.
You don't need two, three or more - and you most certainly don't need a military line up of them!

And that's fking telling you!

When I owned an XKR convertible I took it to the Ring for a laugh. Little did I know what a disaster it would be.

Firstly, I barely noticed the journey there and back and secondly, when I took it round the Ring it was shocking how unlike an F1 car it was.

My name's John and I had an XKR problem. It was the previous shape, which I preferred and could afford.

I had it twelve weeks - six in the workshop on-and-off for works (under warranty, thank god), and six on the road.

It took two head gaskets, a new supercharger, ECUs, exhaust system ...
It burned £1200 of my own money in fuel, in the six weeks I was driving it.
Then I wrote it off by doing XXX mph without the talent to hold the wheel, nearly killing myself and one of the bridesmaids for my upcoming wedding.

And I still don't regret owning it.

Why not? I've been thinking of starting a thread on this. Should track days be exclusively for ultra light weight, ultra sharp, semi slick shod cars? Or can it be somewhere for people who just want to enjoy their car, whatever it is? I could go on, but maybe it's off topic here.
