I wonder who Kia have worked with for the chassis tuning, we may be surprised?
Well Hyundai/KIA are no strangers to bringing in outside expertise to sort their more sporty offerings. As far back as 1996, they brought Porsche in to tune the chassis on the 1st Gen Hyundai Coupe, (the curvy one after the S Coupe).

KIA really are turning out some great cars lately, that Veloster posted above is fantastic in my opinion.

I'd seriously consider one if I was in the market for a new car.

Sounds good for someone who wants to buy a reliable, quick family car brand new.

Never heard of hg failure effecting timing belt before?
The timing belt needs to be removed to allow the cylinder head to be removed, and you should never refit a used timing belt. It's bad engineering practice.
So pay for a timing belt! It's not like it's going to break the bank.

Another exciting drawing - another production disappointment!

"Looks like a"? As soon as one reads that on these forums, they have failed!!

Head gasket failure dosen't effect the timing belt, but if you remove a timing belt, good practice while it's off is to replace with a new one,

Lovely!
There's being different and then there's ugly.

That's the latter.

Why so bloody aggressive too?

It is a bit fussy, but is a hodgepodge of other brand designs really. These follow a set hot hatch design pattern, most having little or noo effect of the aerodynamics of rhe car.

Autocar saying Kia is aiming for a 0-60 in 7.9 seconds which is hardly amazing considering the competition, so there is still room for a even faster Cee'd above that.

Should look pretty good though, standard car looks good enough

From all of those cars pictured above the Clio 200 diffuser is claimed to be fully functional! I remember seeing some downforce figures (possibly 70kg at 130km/h)... But cannot find this literature at the moment.

I would be astonished if a diffuser that short on a car with that much ground clearance could generate 7kg let alone 70!

Besides, is the Clio really lacking in rear-end grip?

It's probably not all about rear end grip but keeping aerodynamics and stability at speed.

The actual diffuser length is about 40cm and the smooth area runs fully under the car, but the pictures do make it look much shorter. Yes I do own one smile

That design sketch looks like they're intending to use a windscreen from a Lamborghini Countach.

Every time I see a 3 door Cee'd I think -- WHATS THAT IT LOOKS SO PRETTY.. then I feel ashamed because I like a Kia but aroused because I like a Kia it's all too confusing.
