I'd love one of these but the arches are not as good as the square Quattro stylee arches on the previous gen cars frown

Sub 4s 0-60 is phenomenal.

As for the price, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure PH tested a specced up Diesel A6 which was north of £80k, so sub 80 for this doesn't seem that bad. And it's competitive with the M5...

That looks absolutely brilliant. Probably the nicest RS6 so far. Love the interior.

Except in the real world a big car like this does make sense with a big diesel.

Though the RS stuff does grab me as fast and efficient rather than fast and fun.

28mpg!! Almost economical if true - i'm guessing more like 20mpg in real life.

"the new engine puts induction on the ‘outside’ of the cylinder heads, while the turbos and exhausts sit inside the V, which should enable faster throttle response."

So the turbos will sit in between the cylinder heads as opposed to either side? Will this not create a massive heat pocket in the middle of the engine? Never heard or seen that done before...

Just thinking the same Scooby... this can't be accurate, turbos need a lot of cooling, and that wouldn't work very well at all in that layout, nor is there enough space to package them in the Vee, they would need to be on the outside of the bonnet..!

Certainly looks good on the spec sheet - will be very interested to hear how it drives which usually seems to be the downfall for this car. Amazed that the last generation RS6 can now be picked up for £30k, that is huge value biggrin

Very common now, look at an M5.

Well the interior appears to look gash. I loathe the use of carbon fibre for interior trim. Chintzy poop.
To be fair, RS6 have always had carbon fibre interiors:

The turbos are located in the V on the X5M, X6M, M6 and M5 I believe. I'd say keeping it in the V makes it a lot easier to isolate the heat from the rest of the engine bay tbh. The water and oil cooling of the turbos will not be affected.

I would be interested to see the performance comparisons between the RS6 and Audi's new V6 Bi-Turbo Diesel. 0-60 times aside (which I always think are a bit redundant these days) I would imagine that the mid-range thump of the Diesel would be superior to the petrol, perhaps making it a close call in terms of usuable performance?

Still, a lovely car. 30k (ish) for the outgoing model is a hell of lot of depreciation.

...and piano black/aluminium will likely be if that isn't to your personal taste, sir. Alternatively, Audi Exclusive will paint them whatever colour you pay them to wink

I wouldn't complain too much; I can assure you the genuine fake plastic carbon in my car is considerably more offensive. hehe

With regards to this new RS6, however, I find it to be significantly more awesome than the new RS4. I'd pay the extra money for it.

The interiors used to look better too. More stylish and less minimalist and not really concerned with Audi's current overstyled creations.

Ah I have not seen that before. Interesting stuff. Bet that would be fun to try and swap the turbos or fit bigger turbos in there! smile
