It's in Gorton.

No. Just no. There will be something awful wrong with it somewhere or you'll get jumped when you go to get it.
When I was a student after a successful night on the pull, I took my conquest for breakfast in Manchester. Whilst we were eating our full English (how romantic) my trustee Escort shed got stolen in broad daylight, from where I had parked it just round the corner on a busy street in Manchester.

A few days later the police found it in Gorton. It was full of someones work clothes and a tool box. The Gortonian 'borrower' had not only stolen it with casual nonchalance, but then proceeded to run it as his daily driver to get to work.

Despite the circumstances I have to admire him for his audacity.

Great shed. Lovely engine. Can't go wrong for some summer fun with one of these imo. A decent strut brace should see it right. smile

To me these things look OK sat at the side of the road - but as soon a someone sits in one they look like a cicus bear driving a pedal car!

He wasn't from gorton. Must have just been staying over.

Ignoring the additional VAT a fine shed though I am surprised they have dropped quite so low.

In fact it's so low that I'm some what suspicious.

Still open top motoring with a 6 pot for <> £1000 doesn't sound bad to me.

Can't help but think this would have been a better candidate for the matt purple plasti paint experiment! smile

Here in Portugal a used 2.8 Z3 costs around €15k, the cheapest one I've seen is a €6k, 1.9 litre 140bhp car with 95.000 miles...
Is it worth a trip over to pick it up? You could probably convert it to left hand drive and still make a hefty profit.

A few years ago I had to get a lift in the back of an A4 convertible, there were two of us in the back, when I caught a glimpse of us in a shop window it looked like we were sat in a giant pram.

Can't believe how cheap these are in the UK, you'll never find one for that kind of money over here.

As a few other people have said, I am surprised they have dropped that low - especially the 2.8 models.

Terrible advert, missing stereo, but then it is a 2.8 BMW convertible for a grand with MOT and tax.

Good shed!

Don't they have a problem with part of the structure snapping?

Also, VAT? (Yeah, I know it's cheap but still. Is this legal?)

Like a few others on here, I'm not a fan of the Z3 by any measure. But for a shed money, dead cow, six-pot, convertible with what looks like a decent lid, BARGAIN!

Z3M's have an issue with the power twisting the rear axle & leading to pinging of the spot welds on the boot floor. AFAIK doesn't really affect the 2.2's and below.

Ah, found it. You've missed out subframe failure.

Still, further googling suggests it will only cost £3k to fix.

I would probably never buy a Z3, but I've never understood the styling criticisms. To my eyes it's a very balanced design. But then I'm the guy who finds the Jaguar XJS more attractive than the E-Type.

I think if it had truly sublime handling, any criticisms regarding its appearance would magically disappear.

The Z3 Coupe isn't ridiculed anywhere near as much.

Oh yes it is. All cars have the right to be ugly, but the Z3 coupé is taking the piss.
