Fine as they are, but putting Bentley badges on - as I've seen twice around here - should be a hanging offence.

I wouldn't call the 300c a "beautiful" car... but it's proportions are handsome and balanced...

After all, those lines are good enough for Bentley and Roll's Royce hehe

I finally got around to changing that part, but the first part of my profile, the first page, has been the same since July. Need new glasses? wink

Nothing can make an X1 look anything other than utterly horrendous in my view, especially in the very appropriate 'turd brown'. I saw my first one in Monaco a couple of years ago and even in that setting there was simply no forgiving it!
Like everything BMW makes, it can be specced to look reasonably decent. I normally loathe them, especially in refrigerator white or turd brown but I saw one the other day in a nice shade of very dark metallic blue with some decent wheels on it, tinted windows, M-sport pack etc and it looked OK, or at least, I didn't recoil in horror. X1 over Juke any day of the week though IMO. Obviously not really the best of comparisons though.

Oh yes. Sadly, North London is full of wannabe gangsters with second hand barges trying to pass themselves off as P Diddy. That's one of the reasons I'm a bit reluctant to get something like a 328 Sport - most of the examples round here have Lexus lights and tinted windows.

What exactly about this car made you want it rather than anything else?

Wow, that is hideous.

I think in a darker colour the Nissan gets away with looking 'quirky' and almost cool, but the Mini is way off the mark! School run-mums will love it though.

Smallish car, 4wd, petrol, decent fuel economy and fun to chuck down the road. A quashcow etc maybe a bit more practical but there is nothing interesting about their engine line up and handling dynamics and If you look to a audi Q3 etc your looking at a lot more money and personally I think it's bland. X1 is a munter, there's nothing else that really ticks the boxes. 350ltr boot, 5 doors, comfortable can seat 4, 5 at a push, 182bhp, 4wd and an obtainable 40mpg. Its also a giggle to drive. I'll be the first one to admit it wont win any design awards but it's a lot better looking than the X1 and in my opinion the predictable Q3.

A car that size can only seat 5 at a push? It looks enormous, I would have thought most hatches could seat 5 relatively easily (but I haven't had a hatch for over a decade or been one of 5 in one for a while!). If it handles well fair enough and at least you admit it is aesthetically challenged. Why was 4x4 important to you out of interest?

It's shorter than an A3, it's not that big.
Random fact of the day, a MINI Clubman has the same wheelbase as the original Range Rover. smile

That's not really surprising though when Mini push all their wheels right into the corners of their car and to put it simply the original Rangie didn't. Back to the A3 comment though.

A3 Sportback 2tsi Quattro/ Countryman Cooper s all4
Length 4286mm/ 4110mm

Height 1423mm/ 1561mm

Width 1959mm/ 1789mm

Weight 1470kg/ 1380kg

Power 197bhp/ 182bhp

Luggage 350Ltrs/ 350ltrs

So is smaller (though taller) and lighter than an ish equivalent Audi A3 with the same amount of practicality. Just thought i'd say.

What a load of bks. See, I haven't seen what you drive but I think knob when I read your post. For more substantial reasons.

Funny that.
Which bit, the "each to their own" or the bit where I (god forbid on a forum) state my own view?

People, even you (!), make judgements based on appearance every second of every day. Why should cars be any different?

I've ranted enough about Jukes but feel qualified to comment as we have a DigT 1.6 Turbo version at the mOment.

One word DON'T they're crap, they simply don't handle the power and cheap and nasty once you get over the quirky bits...
