It does look a bit like the h'orderves at an exclusive horizontal refreshment party.

are the same twonks saying the M6 GC is too heavy going to come on here saying the RS7 is too heavy and completely pointless because you can have an RS6?

The slagging off of the dilution of the RS and M divisions is a bit pointless really... Mercedes has been doing this for years with AMG, producing some cars with mad bhp figures that make them quite frankly, pointless.

Screw everything else, I want an RS1 with 4WD and about 270-300bhp.

Its all very well Audi releasing all these RS... are any of them going to be any good???

Mass production of the RS cars with average quality = dilution of brand.

RS historically have been limited in numbers... I hope they make some great cars otherwise owners will have high depreciation! The purchase price seems silly to me on the RS range.

Yep, all of which are likely to be true.

As others have said an RS1 is what they should make.

As a 29 yr old A1 owner still living at home and as yet only able to afford the 2002 - 2005 RS6, I'm a bit upset that they won't be making an RS6 saloon.

Also agree with the user who said the RS launches used to be special and only exist in one model form at a time.

Good times.

Eh? Is there some sort of connection between the components of this statement?

Not forgetting the RS2.
Fair enough, I agree. But there is a lot of chat on the "ethos" of the RS brand compared to the M brand, when the M brand has produced a large number of greats:

E30 M3, E28 M5, E39 M5, E46 M3 (inc. CSL), M Coupe, E60 M5 to name but a few,

whilst the RS brand has consistently missed the mark except on a rare few occasions. OK, the B5 RS4 and C5 RS6 were good cars but both are flawed - the only 2 RS cars that can really be called great are the B5 RS4 and the RS2.

So I guess I'm saying that Audi can produce an RS golf cart if they want, as it won't sully the heritage of the RS brand.

I'd call the B7 RS4 a great RS car. OK, it never seemed to QUITE get as good reviews as the E92 M3 but it really wasn't far off at all judging by most accounts; and came out earlier and definitely moved the game on from the "ageing" E46 M3. I've spent thousands of miles in one (avant) and would call it a superb car.

I can't remember the last time I saw an audi rs anything. Best seller will be the big suv thing purchased by the same people who buy the evoque and rr sport. Audi are like the Apple of the car world, they are technically good, fasionable and higher priced products that somehow fail to excite.

It's just a daft idea. Why didn't they do an RSQ5 instead? At least the proportions work there, and it would compete with the Pork Cajun which looks pretty sleek...

Sorry I agree - I mistyped - the great RS cars are the B7 RS4 and RS2.
