RE: Even more Audi RSs coming in 2013
Discussion
Never understand the diluted brand argument. More choice for consumer = bad, limited choice = good. ???
M3 great, all models, M5 old one good, but too big as is RS6. B7 RS4 great, TTRS good but feels dated....
Oh look - I have a choice and can satisfy what I really want! therefore I can choose whats good for me rather than puttng up with whats on offer and pretending its faultless.
RSQ3 is a step too far though

I really like Audi’s, but this really saddens me. The RS brand is just being splashed about like a fashion accessory with very little substance underneath all its posturing. The new models don’t even look like RS cars anymore, other than silly wheels and oversize exhausts, they just look like S or S-Line models. I really couldn’t care less how fast it goes in a straight line or how much BHP / Torque it has, it’s all neutralized by the excessive weight these things lug around. Audi; use exotic materials to drop the kerb weight (which will improve everything else) and get away from these lardy tubs, give us something that deserves to wear an RS badge, it’s not like people don’t pay enough for it!!..... Then make less of them to make them more exclusive…
I can't blame Audi for trying to create a halo model in each of the ranges.....yes it does somewhat dilute the RS badge
Especially on day like today on day where the weather is attempting to dilute everything ...... I'm just glad I picked the Rs4 B7 rather than the M3/C63 which I also considered.
Remember Audi and other manufacturers all sell new cars

RS1 would make more sense surely!
espcially as they have the proof of concept in the A1 quattro
And how much would it cost ? the quattro was £41k which is frankly barmy imho, especially when it looked horrible.espcially as they have the proof of concept in the A1 quattro
To be honest this would be a smart move from Audi. They are already the brand to be seen in by joe public, they already make SUVs. So, if they can make an SUV that is a cut above, that says "I'm still doing better than you" they will.
Its nothing about having a performance brand or staying "true" to any sort of ethos, its about selling cars.

All about economies of scale - making 300-350 cars for global consumption is always going to cost more than if you scale up to make 4,000-5,000. Am sure they could get the price down to £30k As for looks, eye of the beholder and all that.

More heavy, inert, understeery w**ker wagons on the way?! Joy of joys! Surely Audi have noticed all the praise heaped on the b7 rs4, and all the criticism on every rs after it? Why can't they make a car that drives well nowadays?
Have you driven one or are basing that purely on what you have read?Of course it would, I'd go Nogaro Blue as it's a nicer colour that Muggello. I chose Mugello for my pre-order RS4 B7 but then chose the safer Daytona Grey and am glad I did. This is an early motor which looks to be in a matte Daytona and it's not the best colour to sell a car and neither are the wheels. It shows the great styling though and that's what matter.
