If this actuallly happened im pretty sure I can ID at least one of the group for you

Where exactly did it take place and when?
Did they have club kit on. If so describe it if not what was your man roughly wearing?

Assuming youd like his details. .....

That's outrageous. Sounds like you did well to keep your temper (I'm not a violent person but if I saw someone do that to my car I would have probably snapped.)
Would have killed him and asked for help on here to hide the body....
Exactly, i would have helped you cut up said body and am sure some kind pher will be along soon to lend us his freezer(140,000 mile a year trucker cyclists should be shot at birth)

Can cycle lanes go against the flow of traffic? The op did admit he was parked illegally.
Please point out where exactly he has admitted this.

He may not have been illegally parked
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-yellow_line
Is that a fair defence?

I'm sure we're going to get a maps link soon so we can see the context.

Heres the maps link of the spot, if you zoom in to street view I was parked almost exactly where the white/silver van was just beyond the driveway.
Numtung it was about 12.20 this early afternoon, sorry, I cannot recall the kit or the bike.

Yes thats the spot. I'm afraid there is nothing more to my story I do not know the chap, did not overtake him prior to the event, I know I was parked on double yellows which put my car in his way but to lash out in such a manner stuns me.

even if he's illegally parked, a cyclist is a civilian and not entitled to damage his vehicle.

i've said it before and i'll kee saying it, it's time bicycles had an accountability on par with other road users. fking number plate the lot of them.

Ask yourself, why would someone attack a random parked car for no reason?
Maybe he's fed up that there's always someone on the double yellows there - as google shows. It looks like its two way for anyone with only entry blocked at the roundabout except for cycles
The only yellow plate I could find was around the corner across the road
It's illegible
Doesnt excuse damaging the car

I can see why the first lot of cyclists were annoyed with someone parking there, though it perhaps isn't obvious from the other side that one is blocking a route. That looks to me like typical retarded cycle provision by the local council.

None of which excuses the mental case vandalising your car.
