Who wrote this? Was it MR2 Alex? I'm guessing given the hissy cassette upside. I have several cassettes.
I'm afraid I can't take credit for this fine shed choice. That honour must go to Tony Middlehurst, our resident shed finder-and-writer par excellence!

Nope weird looks, typical bland jap mobile, Irish plate & caps ad would put me off as well. Engine looks good & interior is nice. I'd go for an Xk8 over this.

^^Indeed. Don't they start at around 4/5k? Not to mention that it would be an early one with moon miles, no doubt.

Great Shed.

Par excellence? Using the work bork in the title? That's one word that needs adding to the swear filter.

Top shed though.

He's done better this week than relying on the incorrect BHP figure used in the advert for that A8 last week. wink

I thought it may have been you Alex, as the A8 had Middlehurst's name on it last week and this week there's no name. Threw me off the scent that did.

Two interesting sheds in a row. The Saxo didn't float my boat.

I know a man who builds flappy paddle controllers for these. You get effectively 6 gears out of the 4 speed and lock downs.

I keep looking at them as a runner but 2 x V8 autos isn't going to be the cheapest to run.

LPG kit is appealing though.

As for tuning, there's an Ultima twin turbo version running 800bhp on the standard internals.

Wow - good shed -I had no idea these were so cheap.
The car looks great, and being Toyota-based it sounds like bork potential is a bit more limited than some. Does anybody know if they have proper back seats?

Excellent SOTW. I remember when I saw one of these for the first time, I thought they looked really exotic and sounded great. Pretty good for £1k so long as nothing major breaks.

Guy I used to work with had a 2.5 single turbo straight six Soarer - said he managed to do Hampshire to Glasgow in 4 hours in it without even noticing how fast he was going once, such was the smoothness and insulation quality.

Hmmm, am currently trying to make the man-maths work...

with the autobox it would be rubbish in the snow, and would just understeer everywhere. real shed ,honestly don't think many would give anywhere near the asking price, LS400's are fetching around £4-500.which is better value

Limited with the V8 on the cheap, for "cheap" tuning you need the 2.5 TT and basically then its an uglier/comfier Supra being more or less the same engine (Sure someone will be along to tell me that the Supra has a 2mm bigger Intercooler or something).

great car. I'd happily have one as only car. These would have been expensive when new

This has been advertised previously - wonder why it's not gone before - good shedding and doable even with rudimentary man maths...if only my house will sell so I can have the readies

Very nice cars - I rate the Soarers as amongst the best cars I've ever owned.

Whilst the V8 is nice, there is no excuse not to go for the 1JZ twin turbo, it's faster and not quite as bad on fuel.

Either way these cars should be in everyones list - especially at this price.

Top shedding.
