all fair enough, and sensible. I can't help but think that maybe they will give the prize to someone who does something more fun with the money though. Maybe I'm wrong.

Nope, you are incorrect.

If you read the previous thread on this topic, they will rate the entry and not the car - if you require a new daily, then that will be viewed the same as someone who chose a fun, weekend car. smile

fair enough... why ask for the car as part of the compo then?

I want an Elise, if I win the Elise, she can get her patio doors and the Lancia gets back on the road. I really want to win.

16. Depending on the nature of the prize, its use or enjoyment may be subject to further conditions or restrictions.

Subject to what "conditions & restrictions" yikes .

I think it could be to stop someone selling the car immediately after they won it?

I think that's fair. "Must keep the car for a year" or something.
The 5k/10k thing had me a bit worried so I've put quite a wide search on. Hope the bosses don't think I'm taking the piss!

I went with the assumption of 5k - if I won first place, I could always look for a (much) better example of the same car with the higher budget.

I did it vice versa. I put a max of £10,000, but have a selection of cars that I would happily take if I won the £5,000.

Really is a great competition! thumbup

you could write about several cars you would like to own, what it would mean to you, why you are deserving... i dunno, it just seemed to me that if they were asking for one car, then they might roll this into the decision making process! If you were going to buy a van for business, then they probably would decide against giving you the money? Surely the winning answer is going to be a 'PH' one with an interesting story?

Sorry to hear that only UK drivers can win. As a french Elise owner, I would be happy to get the opportunity of buying a Jaguar XJ8 or XJR X308 to bring my future son to school. (I think it would be a good alternative to a Renault Scenic or any other boring stuff).

Don't know if it would actually be legal or enforceable though.
