I have nothing constructive to add to this, except to say that is pure class!

Love it.

I bought a 126 in 1990 to use as a spare car for the princely sum of £25, including 6 months of MOT and rattling big ends. To bring it home, a friends dad towed me back 10 miles in the snow with with his audi 90 quattro which he drove in his usual brisque way. This was fine until on a large A road roundabout, when the newly formed 126 and quattro pairing resembled boat and water skiier, as the quattro held steady in the slippery conditions whilst the 126 and I understeered wildly before penduluming (if isn't a word it should be) back behind after a few vomit inducing moments.

Big end rattle was resolved with 2 mins and a screwdriver poking out the detached fan blades from the wings under the sump removing the rattle! I used to drive it about with a raised drivers seat and my head poking out of the full length sunroof like a tank commander.
The best fun was pulling out the hand throttle fully out and driving about "flat out" or starting it with a trolley jack handle to hit the starter switch in the boot when the lever didn't work. Sold it to a friend and then had it back before it self cremated.
I will have a 500 one day

Oh no, I can't believe nobody's mentioned the VW Beetle yet. Don't get a 500 until you've looked at one because they are the st, rot less, *and* cost far less to run.

The beetle has a bit of a nazi taint, while everyone love the cheeky little Roman runabout.

Recently back from a trip to Rome. I can't believe how many of these are still in use. It's amusing how they park them 'sideways',so that two will fit in a single parking bay. Sorry no pics to hand.

I thought the seats were a bit of a state, but then noticed there were leaves reflected in the window. Lol

If you get a Fiat 500 or 126, be prepared for all the tales of people lifting them up and putting them somewhere hillarious, amazes me how a couple of otherwise average blokes that problably couldnt bench 50 kilos, in these tales can deadlift a 550 kilo car over hedges, turn it upside down or carry it some distance, got sick of it after about the fourth version of this tale I took a chap at work to task about it and it changed from "me and a mate", to "me and a few Rugby mates"

Is the original Fiat 500 the coolest small car ever? Even cooler than the Mini.
