WW have similar clause for wear & tear cover. WW & WD do what they say on the tin in my experience and in the case of WW most indys will deal with them direct so no p/w to fill in and problem resolve quickly. Of course if you have different batteries, exhaust and indy servicing WW & WD will cover you.WD advertise as:

On the labour chose your indy rate. Indys are generally better and means cheaper equivalent parts can be used with overall guarantee from indy - which WW and WD may only cover/insist on. This is a downside with non-Porsche warranties, they may only pay out for equivalent parts/re-conditioned parts not genuine parts. So your £25k Mezger engine maybe a re-conditioned/secondhand one with little or no provenance.
Additionally, when I had a 12 month quote from WW for the equivalent, Porsche were actually cheaper. Only on three year deal was it better VFM.

Exhaust temp sensor failed shortly after taking policy, paid up promptly and without questioning or challenging anything. They reimbursed the cost of the hire car needed (policy add on) without issue;they wouldn't pay the damage waiver but I figure that's fair enough.

Porsche warranty not on option due to some previous Indy servicing and Mobridge iPod and BT kit, and a recent battery (not OEM as OEM ones not as good).
I think if your engine goes (much more unlikely on Mezger) porsche don't give you a new one off the shelf either Its a recon
No I would not recommend Warranty direct at all. You will find that the parts on your vehicle that are prone to need replacing will not be covered, and the parts that will outlive the life of your car will be covered. This is how they make their money. If you own a BMW or a Mercedes I highly recommend you purchase a warranty through your dealership,. I had my car covered in the past with the Mercedes warranty which is Mondial and never had a single problem with them paying out for a claim no matter how small or big the claim was. In my haste I cancelled my previous warranty and went with Warranty direct and they will do whatever they can to get out of paying a claim. So in my experience I would not buy a warranty from Warranty direct as its not worth the paper it is written on.
Save your money and buy a warranty from a reputable company as Warranty Direct is not one of them.
