Mates dad had one and my mate learnt to drive in it.

Quite a few people in my 6th form college would have driving lessons straight from college and there were always a few Micras and other typical learner cars waiting outside then this red Ferrari would pull up and his dad would hop out and put L plates on it and off they would go hehe

I've always liked coupes with proper back seats and so I've also liked these, although the only person I know who ever tried to run one was ruined by it in ways I try not to think about...

I see from your video it has a massive "mates per gallon" factor tho - has the word "mate" ever been used more times at Le Mans I wonder... wink

Great article and I have a real hankering for a Mondial now.

I'm guessing from the dialogue in the video that the main weak point is rear visibility? wink

Always liked these, somehow. They grow on me more and more each time one is brought to my attention.

Owned since October 2012 but he was at the LM Classic with it? Is the date correct?

Out of curiosity it'd be interesting to know what cost 1700 quid after the Wales trip. Hopefully for the trip it wasn't anything serious or properly broken.

I think it takes a fair bit of courage to choose a car like this so good work to the chap in the article smile

id say the four of them in the car had more fun over that lap then many other faster two seaters!

My old boss had a Mondial-red which is still a good colour. Pininfarina styling is subtle and pure class.
I would not like to risk it myself but good on you for taking the plunge.

Not sure about the looks of a Mondial?

It's amazing what a bit of colour keying, lowering and set of Challenge alloys can do to a late Mondial Tsmile

Nice write up and a lovely car, if you know a good indy they are not as terrifying as many will lead you to believe to own from what I hear(though I did hear that from my Porsche / Ferrari indy so make of that what you will).
Looks great in that colour, oh and the modded update one on this thread looks pretty awesome!

"Hate is a strong word as I am still in the honeymoon period but of late I am quite hateful of Clarkson/May's festive video where a Mondial does not fair quite so well."

Everyone knows Clarkson/May's TV shows/videos are just full of hyperbole, clichés, and cannot be taken seriously. On the contrary, they are just entertainment, and should be taken as such.

Looks great to me. Knocks a lot of years off the car.

Fair dos - keep it original until you come to sell the car, that Mondi T sold for waaaaay over what it had any right to expect ;-)

Always favoured the 3.2 with 348 wheels, as per my old one.

Hmmm I normally hate it when people 'modernise' the appearance of an older car but that looks gorgeous.
