i would expect this to be the upper end of the Dangerous Driving scale, custody seems likely.

God love the sanctimonious tts in this country.

I’d suggest a crowd funded defence lawyer. I’m in.

without going back the entre thread, I saw this on DM also today - is the OP the person in this article?

There are 2 stories in this thread. The original, where I believe the OP has passed away, and a second more recent story.

The DM article is about the latter.

If there's one thing the police can't stand, it's having blatant disregard for the law rubbed in their faces. I reckon he's getting prosecuted. The lure of getting a smug face picture in the DM. What a pillock.

The problem is, when you take the time to plan something and it all goes to plan, you can't help but want to tell people when you pull it off!

The question I'm wondering is, was that article created directly from someone reading this thread?
They've obviously got more info and photos from somewhere else

Edit:
It's made The Sun too

If I'd pulled this off bragging rights on Pistonheads/ to friends, and a video to show the grandkids would suffice. Going to The Fail and The Scum is asking for trouble, IMO.

I'm not so sure. I think the DPP can over ride it in case of public interest, especially for careless/dangerous driving (the latter would be crown court)]

But I'm not a lawyer. ATGLaw would be the best to advise.

Lol another millennial snowflake. You do the crime, lay low for six months and then go bragging about it to the papers. Gen Y prob wouldn’t even dare to get in the car, but then they’ve probably never even seen smokey and the bandit! This guy prob has Freeman on speed dial... fair play and good luck...

No, not a millennial (born 1977) and no, not a snowflake.

As you say, fair play to him, but my self preservation would kick in before deciding to tell the papers.

Is there any evidence?

They'd need to find the car on camera footage from sometime in September, prove it's his car, prove he was driving it, and prove that he drove dangerously on a specific bit of road.

I'm not seeing it, personally.

Ive no doubt the Scottish police force are scouring CCTV footage of motorways(not speed cameras) and can work out where car is at each motorway and least amount of speed to get there with no offence.
A9 average speed cameras will also show this info.
And we all know that over 100mph is classed as dangerous driving in Scotland so the 6 months speeding timeout won’t really exist.
He may get done for this unfortunately.

Number plate switch while refuelling?

Or those anti camera clear plate covers?

Given the comprehensive planning in all other areas I doubt this was overlooked.

My money's on 'Too hard basket' and the story'll fade away
