Not sure about this one . . . although it will sell.

I liked this:
That looks like the fat ugly love child of a Miura and a Porsche 928
Which is exactly why it is so utterly yum.

Why is it groundbreaking?
Because Lamborghini will be producing a front engined production car, which is other than the LM-002 and their tractors, a first I believe.
Can people not read......ESPADA, obviously too young then...smile lol

That'll do for me, (also a bit of 80's Alfa GTV at the back)

By my simple reckoning 30% of all Lamborghini "production" models have been front engined (350, 400, Espada, Islero, Jarama & LM002) as opposed to mid-engined (Miura, Countach, Urraco, Silhouette, Jalpa, Diablo, Murci, Gallardo & Aventador) give or take

Actually, that reminds me of a Matra Simca Bagheera!

I might never forgive Lambo for not putting the Estoque into production, just love it smileHope their unveiling results in something comparable.

sorry but really UGLY. Lamborghini seem to have got too caught up in the 'design me a stealth fighter and put wheels on it' looks. They are most definitely eye catching but pretty they are not. The Muira and Murci were very pretty cars and arguably so was the gallardo.

What is interesting is that Ferrari have started to move away from the garish to the more sublime. The 458 lines are beautiful.

Yawn..... lets make some money by jumping on the fking stupid SUV bandwagon or we can pontificate about making a rival for the daft panamerra. Not suprised, not impressed and and not remotely interested. (despite the fact I've just posted i know).

Please make a Countach or diablo MK2 then that'll be interesting.
In fairness, Lamorghini is what is called a business. Lamborghini does not exist to make big loud cars purely to entertain people who have no intention of buying them.

They are a business with shareholders and employees they are responsible to, and yet somehow the concept of them attempting to make a profit is objectionable....
+1
Completely agree, Ferrari produced the 400 and Lamborghini the Espada (that came before the Panamera) just in case you couldn't work it out. banghead
The trouble is though that making money on the fact that you are a premium sportscar brand by diversifying into suvs etc... starts to erode your identity. Might make them money but devalues the brand. The more of something there is the less special it becomes. Thats why audi are fast becoming the new ford.

Oops sorry i thought that was their USP being bonkers by making big loud shouty cars and a bit different to the likes of Ferrari and Porsche etc. Obviously not they want a slice of the Chelsea tractor market too.

If they feel that's how they want to make their money then fine by me but i think that damages their appeal and their character if they do the same as everyone else. Bently are obviously thinking the rich mums school run is a great thing to cash in too.

Lamborghini have already played in the SUV market (back when SUVs were just off-roaders). LM002. Cult following and apparently still sort after. Didn't do them any harm (I think they teetered on the edge of bankruptcy throughout that period so my last statement may be debatable)!

I think the 4x4 looks great in dull colours:

I also "created" this last year as the car I thought Lamborghini should launch, basically a pillar less 2+2 coupe smile:

Doubt they really care too much about brand identity, we might, but they only care about money, and rightly so, they are a business after all.

If they make less than 400 like the lm002 then I withdraw my complaint. That way it would be quirky and cult something special. Porsche cayenne levels though...

You appear to have almost drawn the 2014 Corvette Stingray, there.

Even just from show photos, the Estoque concept was flippin’ gorgeous. That’s a car I would dearly love to see on the road one day. If only they would build the damned thing.

Personally I think the three cars up here as new prospects from Lamborghini look damn exciting and show quite an exciting direction for Lamborghini over the next few years.

If you can afford it who wouldn't rather have a 4 seater Lamborghini over a Maserati Quatroporte etc.

And this time the electrics will work.

Lamborghini done make enough cars or generate enough profit to justify themselves. Even though they are part of the big VAG machine they still have to pay their way. SUV's generate massive profits... The Cayenne is both Porches most profitable and best selling car by some margin. The Boxster/Cayman & 991 are hailed as great cars.
It's not about sticking to your guns while you go under... It's about adapting and overcoming, doing what needs to be done to survive. So Lamborghini build the Urus and the 3-4000 per year get sold... What's the problem if it's profits fund their next super cars.
It's about the bigger picture rather than bhing about why are they or they shouldn't be building this or that.

That's just a Lambo nose stuck onto a Panamera isn't it? Looks crap, that nose only goes with a wedge shaped car; doesn't go with the rest of the body at all.
