Too young for the Espada, and all Lambo's prior to 1973 (which is when I was born), yes. Countach and LM-002 were the first ones to get my interest...
I was born in 1974, keep up at the back of the class hehe

I was born in 1983 - but the 1965 400GT 2+2 would be my first dream garage post-lotto-win purchase biggrin

I'd love a modern 928 - soft subtle curves with amazingly good looks. Not even Porsche can manage that. Lambo are the exact opposite, with their origami obsession. Only Aston come close, but that cookie cutter shape is getting very old hat now. Come on, someone make a new 928!

Yeah, I'm not sure you can be 'too young' for a car to interest you!!?? You like cars because of looks sound, feel, experience, capabilities, speed, practicality, safety, and so on. Not sure age can dictate on that level. I too was born in 1974, my dream garage would consist of a '71 Mustang, '69 Charger, mid 60's Daimler Dart SP250, '65 Lincoln Continental, '07 Cervini Mustang, 80's V8 Vantage, '81 Countach, '63 Facel Vega II, Brabus X5 ....You see, I have interest in cars both before....and after I was born!

As for the Lambo's. I can see that the 4 door sporty Lambo is possibly jumping on the Panamera, Quatraporta potti, rapide band wagon, but why not!? If it sells, why not cash in. It would not make good business sense to stand at the side, letting all the other sports manufacturers make them saying "No, we make only 2 seater sports rockets that are completely impratical and only the mega rich can afford as long as they don't have anyone else in their family beside A wife, or A girlfriend, or 1 family member, or A friend who can enjoy our product at any one time."

With 4 seats, a rich FAMILY can now enjoy the experience and go places in a Lamborghini, instead of the usual run of the mill rich persons 'typical family wagon' Range Rover, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc etc. It's different, so why not.

I like the look of them both. Yes, the Estocock can look odd due to the over long body with that Aventador front end but that is only because you are not used to Lambo's looking like that; and it is not as ugly as the over-sized 'we don't know how to make anything look different other than a 911' Porsche Panama Cigar.

The SUV will eiher be bought buy Range Rooney Evoque owners or sought after by those types. I personally Like the styling of the Evoque and the Lambo SUV. If I could afford one, I would.

Well, Lamborghini originally made tractors, so in the 1960's I'm sure there weren't masses of people saying "WHAT!! Lamborgreeny now want to make very fast 2 seater rich man's sports cars? How Ridiculous and pretencious. Lambo make Tractors and they should stick to just that, leave the sporty stuff to Jaguar and Ferrari."

I say good luck to them. If it works, looks good, goes well, handles well, sounds good, it will sell (price depending obviously). I'm sure current Lambo owning families will be interested to add one to their fleet.

In fairness, given a lottery win, most of my dream garage would be filled with cars a lot older than me biggrin As well as keeping the '74 Stag and '75 Jensen biggrinbiggrin

Why is it groundbreaking?
Because Lamborghini will be producing a front engined production car, which is other than the LM-002 and their tractors, a first I believe.
Didn't think something was 'groundbreaking' just becasue it's the first time 1 company has done it. I'm going to Bristol for the first time next week... doesn't mean I discovered it.

He was wrong anyway. So the "groundbreaking" aspect will have to be awaited. Given Ferrari have done the FF, it rather narrows down the options. Maybe it's a 1.6 Turbo? wink

I'm surprised no one has drawn any comparison with the raging commercial success of the Aston Rapide....

True, its just that they dont actually sell significant numbers of Rapides. If Lambo market the car at price which puts it in line with a Porsche Panamera then I'm sure they'd sell plenty (Panamera c. 20,000 units a year) but Lambo have never sold many cars anyway, perhaps this 4 seater will just be another low volume esoteric toy for the collectors who just have to have one of each in their garage.

Sadly, probably true. I would love to take my family out in one!! Not sure they will price it for me though

Absolutely. I've always thought the back seats in these cars look perfectly sized for children. Sadly for me my wife has the same idea but the back seats of a Mini Cooper D also meet this criteria!

I had a Cooper S Convertible as a play thing a few years ago, ideal for fun, but we had the S80 as a family wagon. Not sure about the Copper D...I'm guessing the leg room in the back is bigger than the cooper S .

Food for thought here:

Aston Martin Rapide v Porsche Panamera Turbo v Maserati Quattroporte GT S v Bentley Flying Spur Speed

"I can say that Aston’s new four-seat five-door is a pretty good GT, except perhaps for an elbow issue, but there will be plenty of time for that later."
