Gorgeous build ruined by using cheap pipe for the catch tank in the engine bay. Plus it's not red enough! biggrin

Great to see so much focus on Alfa's recently.

Form over function may not win hands down BUT when you get the combination of Form AND Function the world is a better place!

Drive an Alfa, put a smile on your face.........

.......... Yes, I know, they can be "temperamental", not every Alfa was/is good but they look good, hold the road and provide the antidote to a EuroBox

Lovely car.
Also liked to see Roberto's GTA (replica) with something like 400bhp from a turbo Alfa four-pot (I think). That was an amazing piece of kit, with the same wonderful style biggrin

@Kermit79 Lovely looking GTV! Perfect stance.

I have a 2000GTV (had it in Carpool sometime back).

I am looking to replace the tyres on mine. I like the look of the tyres on yours. What make are they, and are they road legal? If road legal, I'd be grateful if you could give me some info on the tyre size (i.e. are they 185 14s?) and where you got them from. I've been on Longstone Tyres and have seen the Avon CRZ's which look very similar...
Hi Chelme, these are indeed Avon CRZ's. They are road legal, but are a pretty sticky compound so good for track work also. As far as I can remember they are 185 70 14. Not keen on the modern look of a lot of the rubber out there. Here's a pic from the side which shows the profile of the tyre a little better.

European Junk, Still the colours right to hide the rust

And why do they have a 4 leaf clover on the side? Good luck in case it falls apart or catches fire due to dodgy electrics?
European junk that WILL go round corners.

Where as you collection will either ; roll over, make lots of noise and not go very fast or will go fast but will crash in to a hedge the first time you attempt to go round a corner!

Absolutely agree. They need a deep sidewall to look right.

I will give you that on the Harley, but not on the Viper, You do know they have won a few races on race tracks with Bends right? And currently hold the Fastest Production car record on some track in Germany with lots of bends on it that James May hates? And as for the Triumph Bonneville(now historic) They won one or two races too rolleyes

The Bonneville is hardly American is it..... Anyway I think you can like both European and American cars, both have their merits. We run a Ford Falcon Sprint in the Masters race series, and very fun it is too, a little different power delivery to the 1290 cc engine in my alfa. I think you are a little harsh on the Alfa side of things...many cars from the 60's were poorly put together and rusted. The Viper was built in the 90's and was poorly put together, so I'm not sure for the basis of your argument? The GTA/m won touring car championships and endurance races, so again your argument with regards to the Viper falls flat, both were successful. There are rumours that Mundy used the Alfa twin cam engine as a basis for what Lotus did to the Ford engine, so you could say Alfa Romeo were pretty good at what they did.

A rubbish iPhone photo and neither a GTA nor a Junior hehe but the photo is less than a week old so it counts as my pic of the week. biggrin

Early Sunday morning around Surrey/West Sussex. The front ride height needs lowering again after some firmer front springs were added...

Just out of curiousity, do you perhaps actively go to forums for Opera enthousiasts to point out to them that rap is the real music, yo?

Looks nice Braddo. The lower you can get the rear to the ground the better they handle as you probably know. Want the roads to clear up so I can get out in mine after its winter hibernation.

Yep, it's about as low as it can go at the back for that reason! The front ride height is probably close to optimum from a handling point of view but they look so much better when the front is lower. [/tart]

There was no salt around when I went for this drive but it was a bit more damp and foggy than I expected (it was a beautiful dry day once the fog lifted). smile
