European Junk, Still the colours right to hide the rust

And why do they have a 4 leaf clover on the side? Good luck in case it falls apart or catches fire due to dodgy electrics?
Just out of curiousity, do you perhaps actively go to forums for Opera enthousiasts to point out to them that rap is the real music, yo?
hehe

Tread carefully....

He might call you dude.

Lovely car.
Also liked to see Roberto's GTA (replica) with something like 400bhp from a turbo Alfa four-pot (I think). That was an amazing piece of kit, with the same wonderful style biggrin
You're right. Roberto's replica had an Alfa 155 Q4 engine (same as the integrale basically) bolted to an uprated GTV gearbox and had 500bhp+. I read that it kept slipping off the rollers and got a reading of 500 at least. I've seen that car blitz F40's and Diablo's on a track albeit over 10 years ago now.

Hi Chelme, these are indeed Avon CRZ's. They are road legal, but are a pretty sticky compound so good for track work also. As far as I can remember they are 185 70 14. Not keen on the modern look of a lot of the rubber out there. Here's a pic from the side which shows the profile of the tyre a little better.

Thanks for confirming this, Im with you on the period tyres, and the Avons look just right on yours. Its going to be between these and the Michelin XAS at 175 14. BTW watced your Youtube post, awesome sound! Loving it, hope to see some more! smile And off I go to look for some deals on GOPRO 2s...

Remember some epic battles in historic racing between a bunch of GTAs and Lotus Ford Cortinas, Sir John Whitmore was the only one who could keep the pace of the Alfas.

braddo, nice to see your Alfa with still the original door mirrors with the Alfa serpent badge pressed in. Your Elise Sport 135 was the 98 model, even if you write 99, right? Couldn't read the registration no. of the Elise on your Alfa pic, I just was curious if it could be my Sport 135/99 bought 2007, but wheels and side indicator repeaters are different.

Blimey, well spotted on the mirrors! You're probably right about the Elise's age, it was one of the first batch of 50 Sports. It was 100% original on the outside (just intake/exhaust changes on the inside). I bought it in 2008 and the previous owner had had it for some time before 2007 though. smile

Two great driver's cars at Goodwood, both able to cope with a day on track with little to no modification. smile

lovely looking alfa's.
my dad had a few,1600gt step front, 1300gt junior,1750gtv and a later 2000gtv.
gt junior had 103bhp 1.3 back in 1972 ,not far off most 2 liter cars at the time.

Not many cars can be labelled pretty - This is and the first descriptive word I thought of!

I have not got a clue about how it drives etc. It's looks alone allow it to be anything you imagine you want it to be.

Is this the highest rating on Ph for a car ever? 9.21 average when I clocked my score. Just shows the love people have for a proper classic car...

If only Alfa could make a modern interpretation. They really, really need a 3 series size RWD car to make a come back. Its hard to imagine now, but for a brief time in the 70s, Alfas range was arguable more interesting and capable than BMWS, BMW only really getting off the ground properly in the late 70s, early 80s...

Paul, they are a hoot to drive in the same way that any properly set up car can be. They are not massively heavy (circa 900 kgs) so brake well (discs all round don't forget), make a great noise and are a complete revelation on the steering feel side of things after driving modern numb set-ups. The gearbox is one of the best 5 speeds in the business (as long as the syncros aren't worn). When launched they were quite advanced. I have driven many classic Ferraris (250/275/330 etc) of the same vintage and I have to say that these do have the feel of a junior Ferrari in many respects, and as you said they look the business. They weren't cheap at launch, in some guises were directly aimed at the E Type Jaguar if I'm not mistaken.
If you haven't driven one I highly recommend it.

Are these related to the Lancia Fulvia? Both very good looking cars.

No relation I can think of. The Fulvia had a V4, fwd and was designed in-house. The Alfa is a Giugiaro design while he was at Bertone, in-line four and rwd. Oh hang on, they both had Zagato versions ;-)

Picked this little beauty up a few weeks ago

My first little flirtation with pasta and wasn't expecting too much of it but its turned out to be a real giggle to drive.

So much more to it that a Ford of similar age but then I guess the Alfa was quite trumpy when new?

5 speed box before Ford even knew what one was. The car fidgits around a bit on the rear when over a bump but quick for a 1.6 and well built I think.

Only 39k from new, a very original car. Needs to lose the vinyl though.

Vpr looks great. Drop the rear ride height and it will settle the rear a lot. Have a chat to Alfaholics, they do a fast road kit along with a load of other bolt on goodies.

Looks nice Braddo. The lower you can get the rear to the ground the better they handle as you probably know. Want the roads to clear up so I can get out in mine after its winter hibernation.
I'd second that, It looks perfect like that IMO, mine has a similar stance:

GF took this at a Carwash in Waterloo, London.
