Similar performance figures to when Autocar took the Corvette convertible C5 back in the early 2000s. That hit 179 too.

Sorry Alex, I could not see a link to this:

It sounds gorgeous.

Thinking back to the XJ220 high speed runs and the changes made to the car is the hood standard on that F-Type to stay on at almost 180MPH?

Searching for that link I came across this:

XK straight sixes sound fantastic. I'm wondering if XKs sound better than the Busso V6.

<Thread resurrection!>

Does anyone have a contact at Jag? I'm looking at organising a trip for the Healey Owners next year as it's the 70th anniversary of Donald Healey taking an Elliott over there for a 110mph run, which was pretty quick for a production 4 seat saloon in 1946!) and am trying to find out how easy/difficult/expensive it is to set up an event.

As we're a small club (without the funding and resources of Jag!) I suspect we might have to limit it to within the speed limit runs and photos but it's worth asking.

Hi John, I got your mail, but I'm currently travelling and unable to send mail, but can read it. I'll mail you at the weekend when I get back. The road is still there, it's not the a10
