A friend posted this on facebook, and someone commented on it saying how "the increased power thing is crap but the *** garage does these conversions and run their own car on water"

Maybe there are people who buy the idea...

There was a guy selling a Morgan aero 8 in the PH classifieds a year or so ago with a similar conversion.

I actually got in touch but I couldn't make head nor tail of it.

What an enormous load of bks.

In theory you could improve combustion that way, but practically you are using much more energy to electrolyse H2O->H2+O to burn than you will get out of it.

Not to mention you'd need to inject much more of it than that piddly machine does - the reaction only nets you 13MJ per L of water (assuming a laughable 100% efficiency), Diesel/petrol is around 30MJ/litre, how much is in that piddly engine bay tank? Maybe half a litre of diesel's-worth?

I suppose you could argue that the extra hydrogen and oxygen would improve the combustion process, anyone got any figures for how much fuel/air might be in a 2 litre diesel engine's combustion chamber?

Is that two different Volvo V70s, or the old V70 with the nose from the new one grafted on?

That's just what I thought. Really, we should get someone to buy it just so we can see how the scam works...
