Hi all,

I Currently have an alfa 147 ti, which i love and puts a smile on my face every time i drive it, but i have come to that point where i fancy a change and something fun for the summer.

But with so many options I'm clueless, i want something that is fun to drive and will put a smile on my face like my alfa.

Any suggestions??

I'll not state the obvious choice!

How about a mk3 MR2?

Edit: great minds

If you want something like your Alfa why not keep it?

I'm sure it's a good car, although in terms of grin factor I'm not sure it really ranks all that high.

And at £4k you have a wealth of choice tbh, from a modernish sports car, to a classic British roadster, some yank muscle, a Jap turbo nutter. Many of which can be had with the open air experience too.

If they aren't your thing, there are luxo barges a plenty, hot saloons, rally wanta-be's, hot hatches, kit cars and 4x4's.

Did you see Fifth Gear last night. Did a piece on used sports cars.

Had 2000 Boxster S (£5k), 2005 Z4 (£5k) and 2006(I think) RX8 (£1.6k).

Should be able to find the prog online somewhere.

you will get a really tidy BMW E36 6 cylinder Convertible for that money. I would say go for a late spec (98/99) 323 or 328, ideally in original fettle with non of the tasteless mods that people stick on them. Although E46 examples are available within this budget I would say it is preferable to get a well maintained best example of an E36 than a poor or average E46. On a summers day wafting along with the roof down and listening to the straight six is fabulous.

That would be fun. More fun than a car.

Or an MX5.

As for bikes i had a 125 and was about to do my license and then was knocked off so i am a bit wary of another bike! the thought of another alfa is appealing, i would keep mine but i just want a bit more poke, and the gta 147 is out of my budget, i had a look at the likes of a type r civic?

And i have heard the mr2 is a good car but I'm not sure if i would be able to cope with just 2 seats, and i was on the verge of an rx8 and then was advised otherwise due to issues with them.

Many Thanks for all the suggestions
