I had one of these as my penultimate company car many years ago. Had it for 2 years. At the time I thought it was a right sports car. Lmao. It wasn't. Live and learn eh. Still, was nice for trekking around. Did France in it with the wife and the kids who were then 1 and 3 (now 13 and 15) and it coped with loads of luggage and 3 bikes on the back.

I Had a 'V reg' V6 auto thst i bought from an auction about 3 5 years ago for £1500. It was really sluggish with the auto box and drank fuel like an ocean liner, the Brembo brakes squealed so much that i sold it after 3 weeks (nice V6 noise though).

Ugh, seat mechanisms.

I went through a plethora of these when I had a 206 GTi in my early twenties, it also had a ste electronic oil gauge and that stupid wiring system.

The 406 coupe is a lovely looking car, should have got one instead of that pesky 206.

107k is hardly stellar on a V6 - that's just run in! tongue out I was expecting 200k+.

Right number of cylinders, right number of pedals, right colour. I've always had a soft spot for these - as well as the 407 coupe. Great value for money, and likely to stay that way for a while to come. Great shed :-)

Also, is it just me or does Shed seem to be gradually morphing in to some kind of Carcoat Damphands character?
Before you could vomit in a sock it’d taken a bang for a trilby full of biscuits. Minty.

I keep having thoughts about these. I bought a 306 Diesel last year after testing a 406 HDi Coupe. The put-offs were the higher tax band, absurd insurance (because body panels / parts are so bloody expensive!) and worse fuel economy.

I keep trying to talk myself into one again though, if a decent one comes up towards the end of the year I'm hoping turning 25 will reduce the insurance enough!

Other thing is that they feel incredibly big to drive. I think I read somewhere that the Coupe is actually longer than the saloon it's based on? Not sure how true that is!

One of the last good looking Peugeot's along with the 306 IMO. Agree about the colour though, not the best.

As legend has it, the Coupe was originally intended as an entry-level Ferrari but the Italians said no and Peugeot picked it up.
Really? Really???

That sounds like the best bit of guerila-bullst PR ever.

I'm not a fan of body kits, a bit too max power, but this one seems nice.

406 v6 is nice in a lazy sort of way, I remember driving one a few years back. Not a road scalpel but quick and pleasant.

I had a 2.2 hdi one for a year, fully loaded.

I got a free 180 bhp remap from the 406coupe club and worked fine, felt and was very fast. Returned about 35 mpg fast driving all day.

A few problems associated with diesel system, but brakes (non brmebo) etc all pretty reasonable priced, but not main dealers frown as usual..

No electrical problems and drove well, as good as a 306 for me, just comfier.

Door hinges and rust by sill a problem.. window drop 5mm on close failing as well. Insurance is high.

Breakers Parts can be had from ade off 406couple club, so no issue with cost/supply.

Will Ferrari ever get over missing out on adding a 1.9 Turbodiesel Taxi to their lineup ?

I had a 4 door 2.1 Diesel, reasonable comfy taxi with deranged electrics, in no way whatsoever a Sports car with any engine or body config.

A rather pleasant looking thing.

Not really my cup of tea, but I do understand their appeal.

isn't it extremely ironic that a replica manufacturer has the tag line "there is no substitute" ?

im surprised at the negativity on the colour, especially as its very similar to a rather overly popular colour mercedes benz are using across their range ...

This a particularly unsuccessful attempt at a Ferrgeot 430/406 ... but I think it blends in well with the 1960's Wimpey Housing Estate setting

... it looks like it's held together with duct tape eek
