Interesting having a 206 next to it - it seems to be quite compact really.

LR seem to be developing two quite distinct model streams. The Sport, Evoque and Range Rover on one side dealing with the urban SUV bit, and the Freelander, Discovery and new Defender on the other dealing with actually driving in a field.
I saw one of these on the A34 near Solihull the Saturday before last being driven in a "spirited" manner before heading north up the M42. In the metal it's certainly distinctive and I would say that it looks much larger than an Evoque alongside. Based on the way it was being driven it looked pretty competent on the tarmac but surely will do the necessary (for most) in the mud.

Proper Range Rover, not Sport, yes. New Sport is L494 and given it hasn't even been unveiled yet it's not very likely a UK dealer has a demonstrator ...
A good few months off for that yet

Saw that car going the opposite way of me driving home in Luxemburg a few months ago... Passed it too quick to get out the camera though.
Maybe the range was coming back from the Ring?

As long as it doesn't look anything like the really awful Evoque it should do well.
Dont worry, it will.

Hope so. A larger, more beefy Evoque sounds great!

Errr...... Because I have had one on demo for the last 3 days, Hunters are trying to sell me one! so, no not a keyboard driver!!
What's the ride like compared to the existing Sport?
Completely different, I currently have a L322 and thats so much more comfortable, in the back of a Sport, they are just too hard and short in the leg!
Are we talking about on-road or off-road ride?
On Road, My Mate with a sport doesnt take his off road!
Not possible. No one outside JLR has driven the new Sport (L494) yet. Perhaps you mean an L405 (Full Fat RR as everyone here likes to call it)?
This does seem a tad confusing. I'm talking about the NEW RR Sport which Trusty claims to have driven!
No I am not claiming to have driven it, I was comparing my current L322 along with the Demo L402 to the current Sport!

Will sell by the '000s. Not for me though! They are no where near as comfortable as the full phat L402
on a thread about the new Sport it's no wonder we were confused!!

Point taken! I see where one would become confused! I should have put in "current"

Let's see; RR sends a completely undisguised development car to a backstreet window tinter (the one bit they cannot prototype in-house?) and this happens?

I think it looks very nice. A huge improvement on the original. Much closer to the Stormer that everyone originally expected.

You may need a Photobucket account.
