I like the shape, but would not order mine in that colour. Perhaps a dark silver?

Gasp.... Straight into the fantasy garage. Suicide doors too! Send me to heaven.

Has aged the Bentley Conti immediately.

Now if they did an Aviator edition, that would be on my lottery win list

I shall need to see one for real fully to make up my mind, but I am already dusting down a space in my fantasy garage...

I'm one step ahead of you there - I've had the foresight to fantasise about a garage completely devoid of dust.

I've just got home from Geneva,
The Conti just doesn't compare presence, interior or quality wise

Shouldn't this article have been written about Audi not Rolls? They had a GPS enabled gearchange on their A8 a couple of years ago.

Yet another blow for the manual gearbox, common sense and driving skill.

Next on the agenda will be;

Ban maps as they're a distraction. The lemmings have Sat Nav afterall...

IIRC the Nissan GT-R has some kind of GPS related speed limiter in Japan....it knows when it's at a circuit and removes the speed limiter.

I may be wrong but..

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/16/2011-audi-a8-th...

I think the Audi A8 was the first with this.. In 2011.

"The new A8 has set the bar at new heights with regard to multimedia technology. Its multimedia interface (MMI) navigation plus features among other innovations, a highly evolved operating concept incorporating a touchpad – known as MMI touch. Also included are an integrated hard disk for navigation, phone and audio data and a graphics processor capable of generating high-quality, three dimensional images. The MMI analyzes navigation data predictively, relaying information to the control units managing the automatic cruise control with Stop & Go, adaptive lights and the 8-speed tiptronic gearbox so that these systems can precisely adapt their function to conditions well in advance".

At the risk of appearing spiky, there is simply no way that the pre-production Wraith on that show stand is anywhere near the quality level of the current Continental GT.

So its based on the 7 series like the ghost. So is this a junior option to the phantom coupe or a replacement? Will rolls still produce the phantom coupe when this is released?

Wondering if phantom coupe prices will dip as a result as owners drop them for the new model, or not...

I think a Conti V8 costs about half as much as a Wraith, so not quite sure its a fair comparison.

Production model build quality will undoubtedly be exceptional.

Hopefully the next version of the lorry's system will be smart enough to tell the driver when he's on the M26 that overtaking the truck in front with just a slight speed differential will take 8 miles, cause a huge tailback, and just isn't worth the bother.

You can keep the Mercedes truck thanks - the Rolls Royce for me every time. Not everyone's cup of tea I will admit but, viewed from the perspective of one who is almost pensionable age, the Silver Wraith is epic.
