Ah yes, sorry, did it the wrong way round thinking about the 6-Series.

I don't get what all the fuss is about a 1M Coupe. What can this do that a M3 CS Coupe cannot. Apart from maybe the 1M a little faster around the Nurburgring.

Similar power/ weight / size
Except one has a bespoke high revving NA engine
And the CS is more exclusive in this country at least

Shame BMW are losing the M3 2 door Coupe. BMW have a habit of confusing customers with names 330Ci to E92 330i; Z3 to Z4; 645Ci to 650i etc

Love the 1M in valencia orange. Only car, if I had nearly the money, that would make me consider selling the current.

As said, hopefully this new one will but a dent in the value of the 1Ms

I'd guess that all of those look relatively sequential to potential customers?

Besides, I doubt the average person would be that knowledgeable about model names- surely they'd just say "a 3 series coupe - a 330" and most people would know what they're on about.

I'd just like to correct the description on the second hand E92 M3, it's actually painted in Melbourne Red, I believe Imola Red was last available on the E46 M3. An awesome car, however, but I've now got my eye on a 1M....

Why are several cars that have had largely positive comments, scoring so low on the meter thingie? The Fiesta ST is the same.
I'd guess that it's people with strong opinions who will only communicate them anonymously, often because they're either groundless, or they'll upset a strong fan base on PH. In this case, it's BMW hatred, which is extremely common in the UK, but is usually defended on PH. The Fiesta situation is because it's a Ford, and equally, people are scared to say anything negative about Ford on PH. So it's just people wanting to voice an opinion without being shouted at.

- Same power, but more torque
- Easier to tune.
- Faster (especially when mapped)
- Newer
- Better fuel consumption (slightly)

I'm sure announcing this will have a downward effect on the otherwise strong 1M residuals...

For those waiting on the 1M replacement to make a dent in the current residuals, you will be waiting a while on those grounds, the 2 series coupe is yet to be released and the word is if the M2 is to arrive, it is nigh on 3 yrs away.....

Of course, but not many (any?) think of the M3 CS as ugly?

But say a M3 CS is at £15k and a 1M at £40k u cannot honestly say is worth £20-25k more

Suppose big plus point is u can have BMW Performance brakes I think and other Performance goodies on 1M

Defo rather have a nice M3 CSL over a 1M Coupe but sure they all be good fun whichever u choose

It has a warranty and is newer....kinda obvious really!

Anyone considering a 1M isn't going to be looking at a 10 year E46CS as an alternative.
Likewise, anyone looking for a CS probably actually wants a CS, and wouldn't consider a 1M on the basis of the price differential.
