Pig ugly, hideous body kit, terrible colour, cartoonish looks, video a bit too long. I'm just waiting for someone to whine about Mr Harris drifting and wasting tyres next (again!).
FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!!!!!!
Go and log onto WhatCar website and have a good old read of the latest Vauxhall Zafira 1.2 D road test or something else as dull.
Why even watch the vid.
These cars should be celebrated. It is awesome and the fact merc builds stuff like this should be praised.
Have you driven either an F12 or this new black series. Harris probably has, so may have a point. The F12 isn't as track focused like the merc, so it could be as quick... On a track.
I liked seeing the different parts, it allows you to picture these changes that you read about and appreciate the differences.
Liked the vid, like the car. Hope my numbers come up on Friday on the euro millions.
And you are??? oh yes, thats right, a dreamer in the hope your numbers come up...good luck!FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!!!!!!

There is a reason only 300 or so were built. It has limited appeal i.e. for the diehard Merc fans. Oh and it was disappointing that the feature is full of praise, but then if its for the sake of promoting the product, that would be expected eh? I simply hadn't realised that may well be the case until I watched it.
Of course it won't be mass produced. There aren't many 200k cars that are, and surely the reason these cars are special!
Is it beyond the realms of possibility it was full of praise because it was actually good. Remember this wasn't an autocar, how does it perform on the tesco run, but a quick blat around a track. Which to my eyes, looked great fun.
Thanks for the update on the g/box software Monkey:

Confirmation that it's been changed would be interesting, but not crucial.
I didn't know the Jags had an electric motor on the diff.

Great footage in that video, and a good video in general, informative and fun etc. The perfect blend between Top Gear larking about and Fifth Gear being analytical while trying too hard to look like they're having fun... (IMHO)

I love it, top work.. but im surprised at the lack of manual box in such focused car.
Manual coupled with this crazy 6.2 V8? Not for me surely even though I prefer manual on mainstream, ''down to earth'' cars. But on these ones it has to be paddles.Great video, nice presentation, astonishingly ridiculous looks, love it. All this CF on the hardware...such a craftmanship!
Whenever a journalist likes a car he gets whinged at for displaying some kind of unprofessional bias. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do if you thought the car was good?
I remember watching a vid of Chris H taking a standard SLS around the 'ring and thought it was one of the most terrifying laps I'd ever seen. It reminded me of footage of vast Bentleys hurtling around the top lip of Brooklands, the sense of impending doom was palpable. This car looked genuinely at home on the track, although perhaps it was telling that Mercedes chose a track with no gradients.
I know its deeply unfashionable but I would love to see Chris take this around the Nürburgring.

Why do people think these videos are too long? I wish they were 30 minutes so it doesn't feel rushed. Exploring a supercar for 10 minutes or less seems cruel for us enthusiasts that want to drink in the details in an immersive experience. Could we have a long and short edit or final edit and then collated outtakes?
I love the videos but I prefer the style Chris did for EVO (458 and 599 GTO) where they included long uncut over-the-shoulder footage of him manhandling supercars down narrow winding roads to give us a more 'that's what its like to be in the car' feeling.
As for the SLS Black, it is missing that certain something for me, maybe a sense of purity?
