I remember my unlce had a string of volvos, going back to the earlier 244DL models. Even they used to have their lights permanently on.

Rather than "this ain’t your daddy’s Volvo" the message seems to be more "remember how good your daddy's Volvo was?".

The PV544 is, itself, a performance icon and the one in the video is hardly being grandpa'd about. What this is is a classic tail-happy hooligan making way for a classic nose-heavy hooligan. Cashing in on heritage rather than trashing it.

I had two T5s, both manuals. Great cars - the first one was stolen off the drive in broad daylight for some lovely scallies to go joy riding in Wythenshawe.

When I bought the second one, the T5 badge was hastily removed and 'driveway anonymity' reigned.

Ahhh, the lovely T5. I remember a friend's dad had one. The journey up the A9 (the T5 was a perfect car for the A9) was borderline time-travel.

Had a manual T5R estate for around a year, loved it - no one saw THAT coming off of the lights, especially all the boy racers around here in their hot hatches.

Word to the wise - don't put them on cheap tyres no matter how easily they eat them, it spins the wheels like **** anyway and cheap rubber just makes it much, much worse.

I had a fast lap in its successor around Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney about 3 weeks ago.... if you thought the T5 was quick, then wait for the Polestar S60 polestar. Rapid doesn't even describe it.... faster than the AMG, M's and a even a GT-R... simply awesome.

Whilst I don't recall the original ad, I remover the era in which it was released. These ads make me feel old....still good to see though!
