I like the performance this will have but my god isn't it boring to look at - reminds me of something Vauxhall would have produced about 20years ago - stuck glue on it and drove it through halfrauds.

Pity as could have been something special!

Probably not by much. I have a 2009 C class and its very plasticy in there. The trims robust but not luxurious. Mass car makers have really stepped up the quality of their cabins and premium ones are using cheaper materials ( a trip inside a 211 E class cs a 212 E class is very telling) and premium car prices haven't gone up as much.

The cabin looks fine in the Holden
This.

My 2005 CLS55AMG was hardly the last word in quality interior plastics, in fact it was an odd mixture of very nicely finished and very cheap bits.

Looking at the new CLS, it is obvious that costs have been cut even further all over the place compared to the outgoing one. I couldn't live with it. It would not suprise me at all if the Vauxhall was more or less on a par with the Merc, but I confess I haven't seen the Vauxhall in the flesh.

Although the styling is a bit OTT for me, I would still rather turn up at Le Mans in this than a Merc or Audi...........

Would you really lost that much more in depreciation on one of these than a Merc or Audi in absolute terms? %wise then yes, sure. I would guess nudging 10K a year in all 3 of them.

The estate/tourer/wagon bit just doesn't look right, kind of like the Alfa 156/Lexus IS200 Wagons. They look like no effort has gone into designing them, almost like someone at Holden just got their kids to draw something up after school.

And the poverty spec Omega Sportwagon is even more hideous.

Even without the chrome on the front it still looks hideous compared to the standard Holden front end:

In the same way as entrepreneurial folk have been selling Lancia grilles to buyers of the "Chrysler" small car range, someone could run a similar line in importing and selling SSV front bumpers...
I just wish after all the years the Series 1 has been out (2006) that someone would've done an aftermarket front grill.
I hate the dinner plate sized Holden badge on the front of mine.

at least in the new VF version they have ditched the naff handbrake lever in favour of a bit of electrickery. Things are looking up...
