RE: Vauxhall VXR8 Tourer announced

that would look quite nice in our current vxr stable ... perfect if we do decide to have a child, as I didnt fancy a vectra vxr saloon ... 50k is steep and depreciation will be the same but personally I would rather trundle around in that than an Audi or Merc wagon
Plus being VX it would likely come on a 0% finance deal much like our current VXR's ... bargain!!

Don't Vauxhall already sell a 155 mph estate? One that doesnt look like Paul Hogan's mate with the swimming cap designed it and only costs about £30k. I know its four wheel drive and not ideal for taking the family drifting in at weekends but I doubt the VXR8 would be anywhere near as quick in the real(wet, windy, icy)old world. I'd be surprised if the Insignia is less roomy or well built too.

No not really. And I certainly don't deny they would likely be more plush, more upmarket and more 'quality' feeling inside.
Probably not by much. I have a 2009 C class and its very plasticy in there. The trims robust but not luxurious. Mass car makers have really stepped up the quality of their cabins and premium ones are using cheaper materials ( a trip inside a 211 E class cs a 212 E class is very telling) and premium car prices haven't gone up as much. The cabin looks fine in the Holden
Rumour has it a three year old Audi S4 estate recently changed hands for £15K. I don't think the VXR8 has a monopoly on eyewatering depreciation figures. Will have E61 rivalling economy - but what's not to love. Vauxhall deserve an all round pat on the back for keeping the back door open to V8 RWD wonders from the former colonies. Keep it coming!
