Surprised you judged the new gen Camaro as soft and spongy.. just curious how long you owned yours ?
Never owned one. Just a keyboard warriors impression based video games biggrin and assumptions based on other 2~ tonne cars i've ridden in.
I fitted stiffer/lower springs to my 2010 and, although it was far from wallowy (sic) before, it made a noticeable difference on the road.

I haven't tried it on either an Xbox or PS3, so I'll have to bow down to your superior knowledge. bow

I just don't understand!

It's a 7 litre muscle car - surely it's basically a pose - who's modus operandi surely should be to look brutal and sound like a monster?

Why gives a F about 'ring times?
Chevrolet does...

Like the look of that.. I assume being yank it still has pushrods, leaf springs and drum brakes all round, though biggrin
They forgot to mension certain tech bits:
Tires- square stance spec'd at 305/30ZR-19
Brakes- Brembo sourced ccb's from the ZR1 (which are a development of the original Ferrari Enzo package)
Suspension- gen 3 magnetorhelogical dampers (Cadillac developed, Ferrari famed)
Weight- 3800 lbs, -100lbs from the standard Camaro SS 1LE
Engine- a development of the Z06 engine: freer intake/exhaust systems used, different ECU map

If you've never driven a properly set up Corvette, Mustang Boss 302, or a Camaro ZR-1/1-LE. Give them a test drive. Not sure of their availability in Europe, or even UK for that matter. But that are proper drivers cars. A different interpretation. Plus, how can you be a true PHer if you dislike the value of affordable hooning-mobiles?

Isn't this car basically a Monaro underneath?
I think the Camero was based on the Monaro, and that's not a bad thing. I've had a Monaro for almost six years and I was going to keep it forever.....well now I'm no so sure..a 7 ltr Camero.... that's right up my street..how the hell to I finance it?

The Camaro is not based on the Monaro - completely different platform. The Camaro and VXR8/Commodore share a platform (Zeta). Drive a Monaro and Camaro back to back and you'll see and feel the difference (or a VXR8). Like you, I own a Monaro. I love it but it's a boat in comparison :P

This Z is lovely - I'd rather have the ZL1 over the Z28 just for the creature comforts. I think a new C7 is looking pretty nice too...

For the money it's one of the best performance cars in N.America.This Canadian (Oshawa Ont)built zeda platform as one thing most British cars don't have that's reliability.Check any of the N.American reliability audits(JD POwer,Consumers magazine) and Camaro and Mustang are always at the top l won't say who are always at the bottom because that's another story. Not only does the Zeder (Z28)as the guys on the line call it, as great performance and handles incrediably well on the track and believe me this car is put together in the highest quality of any G.M.plant in N.America who have been building Chevrolets since 1915.

If the Monaro is a boat, then I can't wait to drive a Camero. I keep checking the second hand values but nothing cheap with low miles yet.
I agree with you on the Corvette, and it's a lot better looking than the last one.
The thing is for me, even at my age there are so many choices..so many ways to end up in the financial S**t

A ZL1 visits my building alot where I live and it sounds heavenly.

Just wait for the ZL1 package to be combined with the Z28, will make for an interesting mix, well in my head anyways!!

The 1LE can already hold its own against more powerful cars on the track (mainly down to mahoosive sticky tyres) so this should be possitively blistering. I reckon it'll make a C63 Black or M3 GTS look a bit overpriced.
