Good luck mate.

I got half a brick thrown at me last September, nearly hit a car coming the other way as I ducked and slammed on the brakes, my wife jumped out but there was a dozen of them so I got out and walked towards them, lots of shouting, them smirking and the ones who did it looking a bit white as I threated to kill them first and told them that lets hope their mates are quick enough to kill me before I do them.

Anyway, 8pm that night I was arrested for threating to kill, assault and section 5 causing alarm and distress.

Took 6 month to get to court, in the end as they were under 18 they had trial by video, and it took the whole day, total costs were around £6000 including my solicitor.
I got not guilty on all counts, but it was a few months of stress.

Ended up costing me £800 in costs I could not claim back.

Good luck.

Oh, make sure you do not say anything without a solicitor in the interview when you're arrested.

You will get arrested for this as you assulted a minor (you touched him) and you kidnapped him as well.

Seriously, get a solicitor sorted now.

This is were this country has gone wrong, (I'm going to go all when I were a lad now)

But when I was a lad, if that had happened to me, when I got home and told my parents I would have got a good hiding (well OK a smacked bum) for putting you through this and being naughty.

My dad would have wanted your address and name so he could go round with me and stand there whilst I apologised to you.

What's happened to this country?

Well done for standing up for what is right.

Its a tough situation with no simple answer. OP did what he felt was right at the time. I think years ago OP would be praised even by the kids parents for taking him to the cop shop. But these days people can get very defensive and won't he happy with anybody touching their kids. I don't think OP has anything to worry about though. If the police thought it was an isssue they would have arrested him when he took the kid in. its not like he kidnapped him took him home and beat him up. The police and courts are not stupid even if this country is very politically correct.

Put him in your car! Surprised the police didn't arrest you. World of pain if the kid's a liar and starts making stuff up ...

OP Expect the police to break down your front door in the early hours and bundle you into a van in your pants on a charge of impersonating a police officer and attempting to be a decent human being.

Got to agree. They do it because they know they'll get away with it and won't be challenged. Somewhere along the lines, it became wrong to tell another persons child off.

should of kept going a bit so your reg was out of sight, ran back and gobbed on him or done a eric cantona flying kick to the throat, thats the only thing a spazzer like that understands nowadays.

chucking them in the car is only for police or gangsters going to top someone

I fear you're in a st load of trouble, chap. What on earth were you thinking.

Did you citizens arrest him?
This is exactly the reason this country is so fked up. Adults scared of kids. Bloody mental.

Agree 100%, im only 31, but this is exactly what i would have got if i was caught doing something naughty, if i was especially bad dads slipper would come off and i knew then it was both time to hide and when he found me it was going to hurt

He shouldn't be scared of the kids, ( as indeed he wasn't) , but he should be concerned about the kidnapping and assualt charges that could very possibly come his way.

Now imagine he'd had a car accident with the kid in the back, possibly unrestrained, in there against his will.....

I think the OP took an absolutely absurd risk in response to something that he concedes caused no damage. Merely going back and putting the sts up the was enough IMO, grabbing one, bundling him the car and taking him to the cops opens a whole can of worms.

I feel for the OP, I had the same thing happen some years back (scrotes throwing stones at cars). I chased one of the little bds all the way back to his house, and when his mother came to the door I politely explained what he'd been up to and the mother apologized and was absolutely furious with him. A result in my case, but I bet a lot of scrotes parents would just tell you to "fk off" these days.

Hopefully the OP's partner will update the thread, I don't he will have his shoe laces nevermind access to Pistonheads.

I fully support the OP and his actions, especially when the red mist hits. My parents would have been furious had I been caught doing this and I'm only 34. If everyone took this stance, and I appreciate why some won't, the country wouldn't be as fked as it is.

IANAL (snigger), but if you've acted in good faith, and driven straight from where you picked the kid up to the police station then I would imagine you're fine.

You think an offence has been committed, and you've attempted to maintain justice by bringing the offender to the police's attention. As long as you haven't committed any other, greater, crimes along the way then I don't see how they could possibly think you've done wrong. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get a lawyer involved, though.

Well done anyway.

Any news on this??

Did you get a solicitor, you need one as they will push for you to meet the kid and shake hands on it rather than this going to CPS, who will want it in court.

I think (in this day and age) it was incredibly stupid to put the kid (however old) in your car.

If the copshop was only 800 yards away, why didn't you march him there on foot.

But, as above, is there an update on this? (or should we be looking in the news for for "man charged with kid kidnap in Leicester" biggrin)
